Daniel Levy - Former Chairman

Wow. Where have you seen that?
Have to say it doesn’t seem that giving out publicly available email addresses, with advice to keep messaging respectful, would have much basis for legal action. Although if there have been some seriously abusive or threatening emails maybe that gives grounds for encouraging the messaging. Seems tenuous though.
Oh well. At least they can’t blame Levy now.

Some legal eagle at the time said they would massively open to legal threats for it. Let me see if I can find it.

Anyway apparently the club has sent them messages about it, another also had a legal action for calling Levy a criminal

I guess age is a factor here. As a young kid I always thought of us as the traditional top 5 with Pool, Arse, Utd and Everton. That made me believe. As a kid, experience the early eighties cup wins was fun. Coventry hurt like crazy but I still expected us to compete at the top. I remember going to school (on the train) at about 16. On the back page of the Daily Mirror was the Waddle to Marseille story. I was devastated. We'd lost Hoddle in 87 and in 89 we were losing Waddle.

I think there are the fans like my dad who remembers the double winning side and the Bill Nich years. Then there is my generation that really started with Burkenshaw. After that, so much of it is a daze until Harry and Poch gave us belief again. The only other respite of course was Venables. For me, the best manager we've had in my lifetime. Eclipses the rest. Gave me such a great night at Wembley as well watch Gazza and co dismantle the Dutch in 96.

I mean from the starting point that Levy took over, I would not have imagined us in the CL, let alone running to the final. I think it’s exceptional that we managed it while building the infrastructure at the same time.

Do not hold your breath on that.

Agree with the first bit.

Don’t think the second bit is possible without cheating.

We now have the infrastructure of a super club. Why is it not possible?

Have Liverpool cheated, really? They might have benefitted from some huge sales at opportune times. But have they cheated?

I’m not following why Liverpool can do what they’ve done, but we can’t. They have had more success than us historically, maybe more fans globally and higher commercial revenue (I’d need to check the stats exactly). But we have the stadium, the training ground, the match day income. All things considered, if they can do it I feel like we can now.

Obviously we wouldn't name an entire stand after Levy.
But we could definitely name one of the posh banqueting areas after him.

Remember he was very proud of his loges, and I'd never heard the word loge before the stadium was built.

The Levy Loge would be an easy way to commemorate him, and he can use it himself of course.

We absoloutely can compete at the top now given our resources imv - if Liverpool & Arsenal can there's no reason why we can't - we need to be performing well across all footballing departments for that to happen but we are (i believe) on similar financial footing to both when factoring in CL money.

We're probably a little bit behind both actually tbf even if the headline revenue figure is same ballpark as a certain amount will be earmarked for paying off the infrastructure debt we have acquired

I've never heard the word loge either, before or since the stadium was built...

City and Chelsea will still spend more than we ever have available.

Liverpool have cheated more than anyone, they have been involved in US Postal levels of organised doping.

We could have made greater strides on the football side by retaining John McDermott (FA Technical Director) and Alex Inglethorpe (now Academy Director at Liverpool) and another who I can't think of now at Liverpool and Paul Barber (now at Brighton) and Damien Comolli.

Yes I saw the tweet from CFT that the club had contacted CFT to say that they might take action against abusive tweets but hadn’t seen anything since about action against CFT as an ‘organisation’.

Trophies are the only measure of football success.

You can enjoy football without them if course but let's not pretend you're successful without them. We play the game to win, win enough games and you win trophies. Period.

I’d say trophies are the most important measure of success. Had we won more over the last 20 years then we would talk them up more, alas we haven’t so some downplay the importance of them.

They are massively important no one down plays it, again those comments are a abit of a fallacy from whats actually being said. The point as I can see that is being said is they can't be the only thing that makes supporting a club create love and affection for that club, that would defy logic of why 90% of football fans round the world love the club they do and enjoy supporting them

I get slightly sick of this heightened idea in recent years that its impossible to take any joy out the club unless we are winning things. You only have to look at the mess of the communications from the supporters groups "don't buy merchandise, don't buy food and drink" GET FCUKED who is anyone to tell anyone how and whats important to them as a club.

I would much prefer to support the club I love than spend time sticking the boot in and crowing over Chelsea and others constantly like loads do, even some on here.

City and Chelsea have down years. I’m talking about Liverpool.

I honestly might be missing something obvious here and if so I apologise. But how have they cheated more than anyone? More than the oil money? More than the 115 charges?

And even if they have, I think my point is we are in a ballpark on being able to be competitive with them now.

Actual performance enhancing drugs, chemical doping, blood manipulation.
