Yes. Absolutely.I really liked how we mixed up the very aggressive pressing and the deeper defending. It was always one or the other - no half way house.
For me you could see the coaching at work, the set plays both ends have gone up a level, thats clear, the defending triggers you can see a mile off, its so good and the last ditch stuff although nervy, looks organised and not just chaos. The press for long periods looked world class, probably the most impressive part for me.
The issue will come, like it did, in fairness to Ange and those before him, when the depth runs out, we need depth, its clear as day, you won't survive in a Frank side unless you work hard, I said that a while back on here and its becoming clear he is taking no prisoners, but we don't have that depth as yet.
I hope he is backed
Mou earned the right to be a narcissist
What he did at Porto is more than any manager has done in Europe since
Back to the Frank topic.
I'm loving that we're starting to see 3 of our centre midfielders get lots of plaudits for their performances. Not seen that for a while to be fair.
Nice back handed compliment to Frank's early work at the club.
Thanks for posting that, it's a good point. Some fans in the stadium looked unhappy that Tel didn't chase lost causes towards the end. I really liked that. Think it may have been part of what you point out.
A bugbear of mine is when players (usually forwards) leave the structure to press on their own only to get easily bypassed because they're on their own and then when they get bypassed they're not in the structure where they're supposed to be.
For sure there's a time to chase lost causes, but you have to be selective of that, not just a headless chicken.
"Brief Encounter"?He did a good job of boring me at times, often left ground wishing I'd stayed at home at watched that 1940's film on BBC2
I think that was just fans clutching at whatever straw might have been available. I don’t think anyone really believed they would be totally out of condition.I'm pleased that Frank learns and adapts. He watched our defence struggle against a very dynamic Bayern attack and thought "Hmm, PSG are even more dribbly and wizardly than Bayern, maybe I could try 5 at the back to negate the PSG front 5?"
Brilliant approach. We VERY nearly got the win with this approach. If we had gone toe to toe I think they would have found gaps and won easily.
Note - some are saying they've only been training for a week, but they were in serious competition 3 weeks ago so it's not as if they have been on the lagers, they are still exceptionally fit. I was hoping they would completely gas out after 60 mins, but they had jjjjjust enough in the tank.
As others have said, if we had a fit Deki / Solanke / Eze I reckon we would have won.
"Brief Encounter"?
"Citizen (Harry) Kane"?
Definitely not this one, though, as it was made in 1939.
