Sending wout up the road should have been a warning shot to the other teams.Wasn't it just, chapeau.
....and we're off.
Allez allez allez
Brum more like.Ben Healy obviously from that part of the Republic of Ireland which lies just outside London.
That had to be the lumpiest TDF stage ever yesterday. They’ll be celebrating in the Irish bars of the West Midlands tonight.

Fairplay to Yates...was struggling a bit this first week after the Giro but starting to show his legs. Gonna need all the legs they've got too burn off Pogacar.Really enjoyed it - a very well put together stage. Excellent to see Simon Yates take the win.
Just about to pour myself a large glass of red to accompany the rest day ITV4 show. It’s going to be a much poorer event without them next year.
This route round Monmartre is magnificent with the crowds, what an atmosphere.
So sad that the tour has gone from itv, I was genuinely quite emotional when they were signing off at the end, really the end of an era.Agree! Will definitely make it across to be there in the next year or two. An outstanding stage today, great to see Wout get the win…but heartbreaking to see the end of the ITV4 coverage (which, along with the Channel 4 coverage which preceded it, has been such a big part of my summers for 40 years).
Some good news, though, in that Ned Boulting, David Millar, Pete Kennaugh and a few of the others on the ITV coverage are going to be broadcasting live online during every stage next year, as an extension of their brilliant Never Strays Far podcast.

It was the best sports tv coverage we have ever had in this country.
