American politics

I’d prefer the democrats just get their act together and move back somewhat towards the middle. And go for someone left of centre and not far left like AOC.

AOC being considered far left in the US is nuts to me. And you are right Jurgen. She is that in the US. I don't mind her personally as I love Bernie but the US seems like it still isn't ready for a female at the helm. Scary tbh.

Mamdani shows what can be done or how you can resonate with people. Whether that can be stretched outside of the cities is another matter.

But there's also the chance that he could just use tiktok better than the next person :)

Although, to be fair, it’s getting that way here in the UK too.

Labour and the Liberal Democrat’s in the centre, Tories on the right, hanging onto the Reform coattails.
I posted a video a while back (maybe a different thread) that showed that your ideals and beliefs could remain the same but where you landed on the current left to right political spectrum would have changed

After that many years of Tories running the country. Must be the because the Tories were left wing nutters for over a decade! Or we blame your disastrous Brexit. Or is it covid?
Well they taxed us more than any govt in post-war history (except the current one) so I'd say they were way too far to the left in economic terms.

I’m not sure about that, I think it’s just pandering to those who have gone extreme and not calling them out on it

This is one of the worlds leading genocide and holocaust scholars. If you value expertise and academia then it's worth considering his view. If you cannot see this as a genocide yet have a word with yourself.
If the aim is genocide then they're doing a fudging shoddy job of it. Almost all of the population of Gaza from before Oct 7th is still living in Gaza.

You'd think with all those resources and military personnel, they'd have taken out at least half of them by now, wouldn't you?

They are mostly living in a small part of Gaza, starving to death and being killed while trying to find food. What is left of Gaza is a wasteland devoid of life or means to survive. Maybe there is an argument among IDF stans if this qualifies as a genocide or not, but this is a 'cleansing' of Palestinians from their land. Anyone who defends or supports this now is a soulless husk of a human.

That isn't how legal terms work Scara. A genocide is a genocide.

They're being moved away from the danger areas of fighting and being fed by Israel's generosity. Again, if the aim if genocide, moving civilians away from combat areas and then feeding them is a really brick way to do it.

If there are no hospitals left in Gaza, then the blame lies solely with those who turned the hospitals into military bases. If there are no schools left in Gaza, then the blame lies entirely with those who turned the schools into military bases. Etc, etc.

No issue with Bernie but he’s probably too old to be president, yes I see the irony in that statement. I always liked Andrew Yang but he’s created his own party. He used to go on Fox News and try to win them over which is what any democrat should do. Refusing to go on there is like us trying to win the league but refusing to play away games. You have to try and penetrate that bubble because they’re not going to hear certain views from Sean Hannity or whoever else presents on that channel these days.
