Really, you're comparing us against a generational manager and team, a club that hired the best up and coming manager in the world and gave him a blank cheque book, a Liverpool juggernaut and city who cleaned up the trophies in English football?
Sorry mate not sure I get your point? Just saying that there is context to this win compared to other finals. Not a direct comparison to those teams just that we were massive underdogs in those finals compared to the Europa League one. Can't see anything wrong in pointing that out?

I was Ange in again after Bilbao. I have no problem admitting now that my renewed stance was all emotional.

I think the board took a bold, mature and well timed decision parting ways with Ange. The results and performances over time were not good enough, but that should take nothing away from our excellent cup run and deserved Europa league trophy. Like others, I will be forever grateful for Bilbao.

There is no guarantee the new guy will outperform Ange, but given the circumstances, the board had to act one way or another. Boards should have the best interest of the club/business as their top priority, and that sometimes means making unpopular and risky decisions. I'm sure they have assessed all variables and come to the conclusion that a change of manager is the best way forward for the club. Time will show if they were right.

If the rumours of Ange overruling the medical team's advice is true, that's for me a deciding factor. We were ravaged by injuries last season, and absolutely have to make sure we don't find ourself in a similar situation again. If Ange has had a negative impact on player fitness from being stubborn and ignoring advice, that's reason enough to part ways, IMO.

I don't celebrate the sacking. We have a lot to thank him for, and he's a very likable character (IMO) and by all reports a genuinely good human being. In a world increasingly lead by ignorant sociopaths and facists, we should be grateful for having a decent man in charge of our great club for two years, even if it didn't work out as well as we hoped (Bilbao aside).

There's a context to every win.
Did utd or Chelsea fans play down their wins in the EL?
£1b Chelsea are celebrating beating no hopers in the ECL.
If its not a direct comparison then what's the relevance.

For me the relevance is we have failed consistently even when we had the better team/manager/squad
This time we didn’t
And it was because the manager changed things And got it right

I think, with respect you've misunderstood my post, as you seem to be running with a different argument. I have never played down our win or that it was lucky? But there is a narrative that Ange is the only one who got us over the line. Of course factually that is correct. But the context of those other finals is crucial when deciding how much weight to give the win when considering his future!

Don’t even focus on finals
Look below that
Semis
Knock out cup games
Two legged Europa games losing to a team with a manager in prison
It’s worse than finals alone

First time on forum since cup..or round about..my threepence worth...Would have kept him on for a dozen games or so..as ..how on earth can you tell how things will turn out. I can understand the sacking if we did not win that cup..but we won it. So levy or someone else in the great philosophical think tank at spurs has gone on the fans asking to sack him for our bad run of games..but we won the cup. So should have been given more time even if it was previously arranged for Frank.
Last thought..I don't follow every post on here..boy where do these people get the time.. its not going to go down very well amongst neutrals in football or elsewhere about Spurs!..they win a cup then sack the fudging manager! So Frank if you don't win something for us in the second season..or at least get us back into the CL...your fired baby...

Shaws involvement came because we did something right … a proper cross into danger area and he was under pressure because our man made the run and got the touch
CMs matter. And we did all the right things in that moment including how we won the ball in the first place
We made the margins our own by doing it all right
Petty much they exact opposite of the CL final
I don’t remember a free header from Fernandes so I’d have to see it (I’ve seen the game back twice now)
The one across the goal was much further than you think and if on target it hits a player IMO
something that i dont know if mentioned here..Solanke missed a bit of a sitter didnt he,
could have been 2-0 there! It would have been a more convincing win but as they say nowadays...it is what it is...or was lol.

We had a real good Brennan chance early doors
And the one where plane countered and son murdered it
By they are all by the bye
The game was won by the team who executed the plan the best
Like when United won their recent FA cup

Were either of those clubs using those cup wins as justification for keeping a manager in his job? So it's not really comparable is it? That's the only reason the context of the EL win is a talking point. Were everyone confident with the direction of travel under Ange it'd barely get a mention (despite being no less true)
