Not surprised, he really has no ideas or conviction at all. Constantly flip flops and goes whichever way the wind is blowing. Amazing he has such a big majority and there's so many things that need sorting out Labour should be relishing getting things done and transforming the country.

His popularity among the labour base has tanked, and rightly so. Those borrowed votes are gone too for good. I think some on here had hoped he would pivot away from some of the more divisive rhetoric when he got in office. And in some ways, he has, but mostly in the wrong direction. He is betraying core labour values at every turn now.

There's still more than 4 years to go. I doubt he'll be the leader going into the next GE - he will have passed the office to either Streeting or someone more from the centre or centre-left of the party by then

Unsure if this is the right thread, but reports in the Sunday Times today that the MoD are in advanced sensitive talks with the US to agree a deal to purchase a squadron of F35As (we currently only use the F35B which is the STOVL version) and an associated stockpile of B61 thermonuclear gravity bombs (which the F35A can deploy but the F35B can't). These are tactical battlefield nuclear warheads.
This has come out of the strategic defence review and would plug a gap in tactical nuclear strike capability.
Would represent a return to aircraft launched nuclear strike capability after a circa 30 year gap and the most significant uplift in any western country's nuclear weapons capability since the cold war.
