The atmosphere before the game and during it at WHL was exceptional - better than anything for so so long. And the performance was just wonderful, a display of defensive grit which you don't associate with our club but was just the job. Let's hope the lads want to do it again next season...it's been a long time since 1991

My in-laws are all Manchester United fans. I haven't heard a peep from them. Not one of them had the balls to say congratulations. They are bad, bad losers.

tbf, if the club had played a bit of John Denver for the big cup final song to get the fans pumped before KO I would feel a tad underwhelmed too.

I had no idea that was a Utd song so was a bit bemused when it was played.
I asked some Utd fans about it today and they explained that it is, but that the club seem to be really pushing it now and play it before every game.

Oh I didn't hear it, I assumed it was Leaving on a Jet Plane, seemed apt, that Joan Denver had lots of hits but you don't see him on Top of the Pops

I was there too. It was fudging awesome, the next best thing to being in Bilboa, I'd imagine. 40k plus fans cheering the team on like they could hear us and the mass pitch invasion at the end was a mix of pure joy and the release of 17 years of frustration.

What a bonkers end to a bonkers season!

Unreal wasn't it? Didn't get to see the trophy presentation because they turned off all the big screens. Do you think this was to prevent any further pandemonium? So I rewatched all that today haha

Still it was all more than worth it. As you say second only to being in Bilbao?
