The next manager is impossible to consider until we can fully gauge what they're going to be stepping into with regards to structure and support.

?

We should have the next manager already lined up, anything else is criminal negligence at all levels

We should also have a fair view of who we push on, vs. keep at this stage

- Pretty clear Richi is broken, pretty clear Romero wants to move on, players like Bissouma, Bentancur, Son & Maddison we need to make a call on, some loan players that won't come back, some youth players coming in to evaluate, e.g. Donley, Vuskovich, etc.
- Budget should be allocated, gaps identified, some input from new man.

Funny thing is I think whoever replaces Ange will get an easy first season, 7th while not looking completely amateur on the field would be a huge step up

That's what we all said during this run of games in 2022/23. We had that last season...now not even 12 months later everything is ruined again.

Right. Hmmm, I wasn't talking about the club, who I trust have the full knopwledge that we don't (and if they don't then we are in deep deep brick).

I was referring to me...or us, supporters. Until we know how many of the lot around Ange are also held culpable, and whether we are sticking or twisting philosophically, then I personally cannot begin to speculate on who should be next. I could say who I'd want! Different things though...

As for the player list, yes, we all have our ideas, but so many factors to consider, not the least of which are who is going to be our manager, how much money Levy will want for certain players, who we actually can move on, whether we will be in the CL or not...

It's the support and structure of a club that routinely finishes in the top 8.

Everyone knows that.

It's also a club that got pelters up until recently that they set the bar too high, evidenced by sacking managers at the first sign of dropping out of CL qualification level (which coincidently is the level at which teams tend to consistently win trophies) - yet now we're a club that has no standards or ambition

thats absolutely down to levy.

went with arnesen and mitchell.
then tried hitchen and himself
then paratici who unfortunately got banned
then lange and somehow, the inexperienced munn
now we have venkat to review everything

if you think about last year we neglected experience and expertise in a big way in management, coaching and the players.
its not that i don't value grey, bervall, kinski and the likes - but our budget can only spread so far.

hopefully venkat is the new broom that will sweep clean and bring enough assurance to attract a proper manager.

Like Poch? Yes. A terrible decision that set us back years.

OK. Who's your next managerial choice if it is as straightforward as knowing this board is happy just to be top 6 aiming for top 4? Do
We accept our lot? Do we accept, say, Marco Silva, enjoy a little bounce and then watch as he flames out like his predecessors?

We have to accept our lot to some degree.

We are not going to outspend the doped clubs.

A manager flaming out is on them, and a predictable part of the cycle at every club.

It’s on the coaching staff and the players to execute for as long as possible.

If they do that and enough of the doped clubs have a failed season we’ll get somewhere.
