Yves Bissouma

Am I right in saying that at the time that Bentancur started his ban, Bissouma was on 2 yellows. He's since picked up 3 yellows in 4 league games and finds himself suspended as well. He even got one of those yellows in the 1st minute.

But he isn’t getting rotated it because we have no alternative
People wanted us to kill the game yesterday and that may have been possible with bentacur on the bench for example but he wasn’t available

Gray could've come on, or Maddison or Bergvall....

Yeah, must admit I preferred the victims way of collecting centre mids when they won the back to back CL and league trophies. You can never have enough engine room in this league.

The boys were also saying on this week's podcast that Bergval is more of a number 6 than they first thought. I have a feeling he will be paired with Bentancur against Rangers to give Biss a rest. I assume we're looking at 3 out of 4 of Gray, Bergval, Kulu and Madds for the 3 midfield roles at the weekend.

So two attacking midfielders to at least one box to box and a player who hasn’t played a game in midfield for us

I’ve not seen that yet to comment TBH
We haven’t had many injuries in midfield at all but losing bentacur is bad for these games as they suit him
 
Maybe it's a coincidence but this guy was doing everything asked of him with aplomb, Solanke had two but I was waxing lyrical about him all game.....Up until Fraser's first roosterup and the jitters just seemed to take hold.

It was like night and day, maybe nobody was great once we started trying our best to fudge it up but he really stood out with his performance completely unravelling. Happy to get through but it's got to be a concern for Ange. Maybe it's Gray's position to take once our CBs are fit.

Fully agreed. Great up until that point, then like others not so much.

Was one situation that imo examplified it. Did a really good turn under some pressure to keep the ball centrally, then tried to pass wide to Kulusevski. But telegraphed the pass and wasn't accurate enough.

Some of it probably is nerves and pressure. But some of it imo is his passing game not being very good and not having those deep playmaker/tempo setter qualities.
 
Hopefully not just on good behaviour after the pen and then it slides back after a few games.

Was fantastic for most of the game, then I'm guessing like a lot out there, they ran themselves out.

That pass was just as much Kulu not coming to the ball than Biss under hitting it.
