Yves Bissouma

MOTD showed that he was often facing an overload in midfield as Sarr pushed forward.

In one screenshot I noticed there were six chelsea players against 4 spurs defenders and the Chelsea players were in acres of space and under so little pressure. All it needed was one pass from Lavia and we were in trouble. It was happening repeatedly. Yet Ange did not tweak anything.

He was rash with the penalty but we were not organized defensively for much of the game which is going to make players panic and make mistakes.

The penalty came from his anger at weakly losing it Neto wide 20 seconds earlier

It must be annoying for the players who are running around like maniacs trying to cover ground cos we are so open. Then getting knackered and injured. And we keep going the same way when we have 20 first teamers out

I’ve been saying Ange in all week/all season but the more I think about it coupled with your logic, we’re going to waste/ruin players like VDV’s talent constantly getting injured because of this suicide-ball. And if by some miracle we go further in the EFL and Europa, we need a manager who can keep things tight and Ange most certainly can’t/wont do that.

He was knackered coming in and that showed from the lazy non-closure of Sancho to the stupid penalty give away.

I don’t think fatigue can be an excuse for that penalty. He’s followed up a mistake with an even more costly mistake before. It’s in his mental approach to the game. And he needs to cut it out.

I have been one of his most consistent critics as you know (I wanted him replaced in the summer with a Zubemendi calibre player if possible). Believe me, I thought he was poor today and the challenge idiotic/brain farty. But I do think the reason for it was fatigue, physical and mental. Bissouma needs to be in hies best shape to play his sharpest games, and clearly he ain't. So to be clear matey, not an excuse -agreed- but it is IMO the reason.

I thought it was anger at what he had done 20 seconds earlier
That’s how he did it before too

We struggle to adjust our pressing when not playing with a lot of energy. We have at times dropped a bit deeper, or been forced deeper, against Chelsea and against City. We're alright in those situations.

But that "half high press" thing where we fairly easily get bypassed is not a good look and we need to adjust quicker when we can't press high in an effective manner.

I never really understood why we bought him as every time i saw him for Brighton he never really impressed me. I have seen nothing during his time here that would encourage me to change my mind over that. He has talent but he is another of our players who are hit and miss IMO. 28 now so i really do not see him becoming a stand out.

He will be sold

Of course
He was raging thiugh
He knew it was his error
Sadly one of the reasons I have never felt I can trust him as a player :-(...I mean, Roy Keane had his moments I know, but his performances were exceptional around them...
