World Cup Round of 16 - Fixtures in 1st Post

clear obstruction from mertesacker, had a look and set himself, should have been a pen

they never get given though

Algeria are totally dominating this. Final ball is letting them down and no doubt Germany will come back and show that extra quality

It's a shame, but Algeria in spite of their attacking play won't even score tonight. Germany look more ruthless when they have the ball, they have a system set up and have attacking plays which they use to try to score.

Algeria are too much attacking but never really look like having an end product

Neuer doesn't seem far from a total balls up, might be good judgement but I think there's plenty of luck in there too.

Not seen many good free kicks this WC. Other than Messi the other day I can't think of any that have flown in?

No, this was what I was thinking when Algeria had their attacking free kick. I would have expected to have seen more goals scored from free kicks this World Cup.

A good first half for Algeria, to have taken the game to a draw at Half Time and to have threatened Germany, they have to be pleased with their performance this far.

Signs from Germany before the break though that they can step it up a level; we would certainly expect them to be able to push up in to top gear. Good first half performances from Ozil and Mertesacker.

Impressed with Algeria, great pace and fitness. Although every other team here looked fitter and fresher then Englands team of puddings !
