Troy Parrott

The one thing you can't teach is desire
That's a really good sign.
Maybe in Scarlett and Parrot we have potential back up strikers.
Easy to forget Parrot only just turned 20.

Age thing for sure.

We've seen so many players become really good and important players for us after looking nowhere near ready for first team fotball for us at 20.

Now more than ever young players, even at 16-17, can get a lot of hype around them. If they then end up truly breaking through at 22 for example that's a long time where they're hyped without living up to that hype. But patience with these players can be greatly rewarded.

It's amazing when teenagers break into first team football at a high level. I get the wish for that and the excitement when that happens. But sometimes I get the impression that if a player fails to break through that early people start thinking that they're not going to make it.

I'd add to that it's even harder for someone so young to break through because you need to be the full package. It's alot to get blooded in the top half of the EPL based purely on skill or physicality these days.

I'm not even sure the likes of Rooney or Owen would have.

What a brilliant post. Would add that often the players that break through at 17 don't have the greatest careers.

7 league goals and 5 assists this season and i think he is playing in the wing. Not too bad.

And its regular football that's moving his development so we wouldn't want to halt that with too much bench sitting.

Always that debate isn't it. I'd argue that Scarlett needs game time as a higher priority that Parrott, so I'd definitely loan him out

Parrott might benefit with being in the squad next season now that he'd had some grown up football

Playing time for squad players outside of a core 13/14 might be effected by which European comp we land in.

Based simply on the fact that next season teams can make a maximum of 5 subs by definition means Conte will be relying on more than 13/14 players.

Forgot about that.
Wing backs better up their fitness!

Kane has adapted his game so he gets less injured, so Kane, Son and Kulu will play alot. And Parrot and Jack Harrison (I think we'll go for him in summer) can rotate in.
Probably a loan for Scarlett and Devine.
Parrot looks like he's hitting that point of being ready to be around the first team.
The curveball would be if a quality fwd became available at a good price.
But I think two wingbacks and one CM will be our focus. Maybe a CB. Although I have a suspicion Conte will bring Rodon through next year.
