Transfer window thread?

Should go back in with a permanent offer. Good to see we're still lookig for this sort of player though, assuming its true

I know very little about him, other than he sounds good and the highlights Ive seen are positive.

Seems we are pretty persistent in wanting him though, it theres something to this report that would be 3 windows we have had interest?

There was talk yesterday that Woolwich were trying to get Sideshow Bob from Cheatski (or, depending on the source, that Cheatski were offering him as part of a deal for Giroud).
The story is still floating around this morning.

I know the PL is rich, and I know they generate a fair income in general, but can they keep spending like they do without CL?

£350k a week on Ozil, Id imagine similar on Auba, their wage bill is getting really high...

Despite being from a Finance background, I haven't ever looked into the precise calculations of the FFP rules. Are they in danger of breaching them? The fees on Lacazette, Mik, Aubamayeng need to be included, as do the wages on these and Ozil,.....whilst on the other side they dont have CL cash

I really wouldnt know. Im just wondering if their spending is at all sustainable.

And, if the bottom fell out of the TV deal suddenly - where would their wage bill leave them?

the Lacazette one is brick for them as they don't need him any more - he is a worse PEA. They have shifted a fair few players from the wage bill this year so that will help with this (also opportunity cost of letting Ozil go on a free - need to buy a replacement etc goes into this decision). could see the start of a more staggered wage bill for them? I think its fairly flat at the moment which in essence means their brick/ mid players are comparatively overpaid to promote unity. Would not be surprised if the 2 year deal for Wenger was actually a 1 year (gentlemen's) to avoid the brick storm of last year, a lot of his "principles" seem to be ignored this window.

They have always over paid.

In part it was to attract youth, but then they are stuck at higher and higher levels as contracts are renewed and senior players come in etc. Now they have completely broken their upper limit, where does that leave all the players beneath? I can only imagine the bottom earners being pulled up even more. Could be a very hairy situation in the books!

Wouldnt be surprised on Wenger, he cant be long for that job now.
