I feel sorry for the poor sods who have to look up up all these foreign teams and find a player they can link to us, it's a lot easier doing it the other way round finding our players they can sell.

Dammit, I was really hoping we would go in for this guy (Palmieri). He would have been huge with Poch coaching him. And at £42K/wk he was totally within our wage structure. Well,I guess the club knows better...
 
Well least we can rest assured if we don’t get anyone here we will make sure all our business is done early in the summer to give the manager and squad the best chance to get and get off to a flier.

Crystal Palace are favourites to sign Celtic striker Moussa Dembele.

The Frenchman was left out as Celtic beat Partick Thistle on Tuesday night.

He has been linked with Brighton in the past but Palace are now leading the chase.

I thought this lad was meant to be the next big thing?

There are injury issues that mean clubs can't get insurance for him. Like Demba Ba and Loic Remy
 
If we aren't going to sign a foreign "galáctico" in this window, then I would prefer we concentrate on British players for the future.

They don't. So if the player breaks down and can never play again, they are liable for the full wages for the rest of the contract and the asset right off. It's why only desperate (Saudi Sportswashing Machine/West Ham) or don't care (Chelsea) clubs touched Ba and Remy.
 
Sturridge anyone? At 25 mill surely worth a punt. Would be a good option off the bench. Knows where the goal is.

If Poch can get him fit, would be a worthwhile addition imo.

Nah, seems like a complete thunderc@nt to me. Also seems like a player who needs regular games to be effective, but he’s not going to get those with Kane around.

What's his record like coming on from the bench and scoring? From memory it' quite good. Which is really one of our missing pieces.
