Transfer window thread?

Lot of links in the local brighton news that celtic dembele is going to Brighton for 20m. He has been quiet this season but Brighton are in need of a striker.

Would we really sign Sancho when we have Edwards (who may not be as good) but can't get a game here. Maybe it is an attitude thing.

They need mediocre Brits for their homegrown quota
That is a rather ridiculous assertion, they have Stones, Sterling, Walker and Delph all playing regularly. They also have some of the best young players in the country coming through, including Roberts on loan at Celtic.

Why can you not just admit that you are wrong and that Zaha has developed further this past 18 months or so and is now a very effective player?

Chelsea too apparently. Smells like agent work.
I can see why both clubs would be interested. He can play as a 7, 11, 10 and even a 9. He is effective for Palace even though he is their best player and generally doubled up on. Pace, power, skill and has now added some end product. He also wins a huge number of free kicks.

Zaha has developed and is effective, buts let's be honest he's not Emirates Marketing Project quality. With their resources they should be looking at much better.
2 weeks ago they were linked with Messi, are going for Zaha because they can't get Messi?
Don't think so.

Emirates Marketing Project ready to rival Arsenal and Chelsea in Wilfried Zaha transfer chase
Crystal Palace hero who flopped in two-year Manchester United spell is wanted for a second crack at the big time

Emirates Marketing Project are ready to join the £40million chase for Wilfried Zaha.

Premier League leaders City are now among the clubs considering offering the Crystal Palace star a second crack at the big time.

And the champions-elect have begun doing the groundwork on a potential deal for Zaha, who they view as one alternative to Alexis Sanchez.

City are determined to ensure they keep their squad stocked with the sort of exciting attacking players manager Pep Guardiola likes and has amassed over the past couple of seasons.

The 25-year-old’s stunning form for Palace has put him back on the radar of some of the Premier League’s big boys and seen his value sky rocket to around £40m.

The forward has reignited his career since returning to boyhood club Palace just under two years ago after enduring a disappointing time at Manchester United.

He didn’t make a single Premier League start after joining the Old Trafford giants in 2013 and spent most of the two years he was on their books out on loan at Cardiff and back at Palace.

Since returning permanently in February 2015 for just £6m, Zaha has shown the talent on a consistent basis in the Premier League that tempted Sir Alex Ferguson to shell out £15m to sign him.

The Ivory Coast international, who has also won caps for England before opting for the country of his birth, enjoyed his best ever season last term, scoring seven times and assisting 11 goals as Palace won their battle against relegation.

This term, he has been their talisman again during a resurgence under Roy Hodgson after missing the first two months with a knee injury.

He has scored four times in 12 games, displaying his versatility by operating up front during Palace’s striker crisis, and also contributed three assists to help them climb off the foot of the table and up to 14th.

Zaha signed a new five-year contract in May, when he was being eyed by Tottenham .

But with Chelsea , Arsenal and now City showing interest, his future will be on the Selhurst Park board’s agenda once again.

I dont think they would have seriously been in for Messi, its quite clear he's a one man club. Would Zaha count as a 'homegrown' player? If so, a good addition for them IMO....

I think they will go for a mega star striker in the next two windows.
The price they will pay frightens me.
Ageuro will be on his bike IMHO

I actually cant see City in for Zaha, really not sure they need him or he fits in.

Chelsea, as a Hazard replacement? Maybe. Either way I think they could go for him.
Likewise Arsenal, I could absolutely see them going for him.

And yet apparently he isnt good enough for us ...

City dont need him. Chelsea? Hazard to sunnier climes?
