It seems strange to do if they have, but I am not sure we make this signing if Bentancur didnt pick up a lengthy injury

He was decent at Palace and West Brom from my viewings, it feels a long time ago now mind. I mean look, we need reinforcements, I think perhaps I’m worried that this signing just takes money away from much “better” targets in the summer and suddenly means we have loads of CM options, none of which are game changers.. it’s not my money! Either way I’ll get behind him in the hope he can really give us something. GHod knows we need it.

- HG, PL proven, bring energy, has a shot on him
- He's played 27 times apparently this season, so not quite frozen out
- With Bentancur & Bergvall injured, likely walks right in
- Will want to prove something to play in WC
- Playing under Simeone and in La Liga probably has improved him

If I was betting, it's the beginning of the end for Biss, Bentancur, Sarr

And for those who like it, played almost every game and was captain for Poch at Chelsea

Yep, There's talk we are still looking for the deep ball playing midfielder, If so, then those 3 are the first to go.

I think it's a strange one because as an individual he's a decent enough player. But it will be viewed as an uninspiring signing by many because he's unlikely to make our football any 'prettier' for want of a better word. Not sure having him alongside Palhinha for example will help our football become any less turgid.

It adds some depth to a depleted area, let's see what Frank has in mind for how the midfield is going to look....

We know Bissouma is on the out.
But I think I agree with the other 2 as well.

Sarr hasn't taken that step up yet. Still might, but

Gallagher Bergvall
Palhinha Grey

Starting to look more like for like in players (Grey still has a lot of development)

If he can pass the ball, then he improves us.
If he can pass the ball forward, then even better 😂
 
Not blown away by this one personally, not really the passer, playmaker we’ve been craving. However he does add depth to an injury riddled CM and is pretty similar to MGW who seemingly was Franks first choice in the summer, so maybe we might see some long overdue semblance of an attacking plan with and without the ball from our manager if we get him?
