Not true. He paired Modric and Huddlestone in the centre after he pushed Bale from left back to left wing after Bale had done so well there in previous games. Wasn't down to injuries.

All he needs to do is go BACK to the winning combo from earlier this season. Lennon, Modric, Parker, Bale in midfield, VDV in front of them with Ade in front of VDV. And for that to work we desperately need Ade to find a semblance of form because in recent games he has been woeful.

This was as a direct result of not having any other central midfield combo available, NOT harry's tactical genius.

I have just watched the first half of the Barcodes game and I am struck with some comparisons where unfortunately we dont measure up;

1. Team ethic in hunting down the ball in packs when not in possession
2. Getting players in the penalty area - when Ben A crossed newc had three men in the area. When Cisse's header came back off the bar, Cayote was there to head in the rebound
3. Getting the ball forward fast and with purpose - compared to our very laboured attacking approach work
4. Ben A getting to the by-line - Lennon hasnt got to the byline and crossed to good effect (bar the cross for Ade in the Swansea game)
5. Movement off the ball - Saudi Sportswashing Machine always have men making runs and giving the man in possession options when we have the ball
6. Playing to a well worked team pattern - players playing in their right positions and knowing their roles in the team.

We need to get back to playing how we did against Liverpool earlier in the season.

I don't think it was tactical genius, but you are wrong. Bale's emergence was the main reason why we switched to it. Not to mention that Huddlestone and Modric were rarely fit at the same time :lol: It'd be interesting to see what his first team would have been like this year had Huddlestone been fit though....

I got to agree, I like Lennon but thishabit of running across our midfield from right to left instead of going down the right flank and putting in a decent cross is beginning to get on my nerves

As far as I remember, Bale played leftback right up until the Sunderland game, when Palacios got himself suspended. Cue mass suicide on gg about facing the other two London clubs without him. Redknapp pushed Bale up to left wing and pushed Modric inside with Huddlestone. Had a great couple of games, 2 wins. Then goes back to what we had before it at OT, with Palacios in the centre, Modric on the left and Bale lb. Which was silly, considering the 2 games just before that.

Team news in from QPR - Harry makes two changes - Sandro in for Aaron, Defoe in for Ade. Looks like a 4-2-3-1 system. Line-up on way...

GK: Friedel
RB: Walker
CB: King
CB: Gallas
LB: Ekotto

CDM: Parker
CDM: Sandro
CM: Modric

RF: Rafa
LF: Bale

ST: Defoe.

Here's our starting line-up at QPR - Friedel; Walker, Gallas, King, Assou-Ekotto; Parker, Sandro; Modric, van der Vaart, Bale; Defoe

If we're not winning at half time we'd better switch back to our starting line-up from last week.

QPR need to win, but so do we. Therefore we are heading for a draw. Bye bye, Champions League

If Modric and Hudd were Harry's first choice central midfield, then why didnt he play them earlier in the season?

------------Friedel
Walker---Gallas--King---Assou-Ekotto;
-----Parker-Sandro-Modric,
----VDV-----Defoe------Bale

I have fears about Cisse's pace against Gallas and King.
