at the risk of sounding somewhat negative, parker is a fudging dire footballer (on the ball)

You are partially correct. Except he appears to have reverted to type and is currently passing with the vision of Ray Charles, holding onto it like Le Bron and pirouetting like a ballerina. I am (of course) exaggerating BUT tonight we need him to anchor more.
 
All cheap digs and notes aside King, would you not admit he has not been especially fantastic tonight (no-one has to be fair)?
 
Bassong was only poor for us when he didn't play regulary.
Very good in our Champions League qualifying season.
He lost his way though, and probably needed this transfer to get going again
 
Wow. This is going to be a rough night...smash and grab on the cards. Optimism leads me to believe we will win, but boy, it's scrappy! We need some calm and authority in the middle. Christ, and I hate to say this given how poor he was Sunday, but this game could do with Hudd! Let's hope Holtby gets on in the second-half and points the way...
 
The game is awful - broken play, push in the back, scuffed pass, back to the keeper, long hoof, crowded out, fall over, foul, scuff, hoof, slice, foul, chase, fight.

We need to get it down and calm down and ensure Scott Parker does not become the link with the attack.

It would be nice if Bale did the whole "sprint like crazy and score" thang.
