****Tottenham Hotspur v Chelsea****

End of game. A draw
Sh*t.....needed a Gerry Armstrong to run through them...

Anyway ..this is what I was saying..
We have to have other players that come in when our key players are injured or suspended.
Ali definitely a key player! No real replacement in a game like to-day.

That's why another class midfielder who can keep the threat going from the midfield would be more important at this stage than a striker IMO...

Sloppy?

0-0 against a good team after playing Thursday!

Nackered maybe Sloppy no

Sloppy because we were knackered: cause and effect. Tiredness showed in the slow reactions to bouncing balls, legginess in challenges, unimaginative approach play and repeated turnovers of possession under little pressure. It's a point I would have taken before the game, definitely: but the performance was undoubtedly a bit haphazard.

I think a lot of our season will come down to whether we can secure one more player who can get some goals. It is what we're missing, and on a day like today, you need another leader. Kane can't do it 3 times a week.

Would love Costa if Mourinho wants rid! He would knuckle down and work well in this team. Never going happen of course.

Yep I will take that..especially after this weeks exertions....

It was Chelsea that needed the win...not that you could tell....

A previous Spurs side would have lost that but we defended well bar a few silly moments, I hope Mason is not to bad and it was good to see Lamela come on....
Got a week to prepare for a trip to the Hawthorns...I hope we turn it on......and put a hedgehog up Jeremy Peace's bottom.

Good grief! Serious relegation fears. Astounding summation.

Eh? We were tired, we missed a chance to be decisive, and we were a bit sloppy: if even that raises your heckles, then I have no words, mate.

Also, what about that statement is particularly untrue?

Agree with that. We have options in most positions but need one more up top

I hope you are a minority on here who would take Costa. He's a nasty rat-bag with no class and an eye for viciousness.

People need to remember the following very important fact...
BOTH our FBs, NEITHER of whom went on the much-discussed 5000 mile trip, got stupid yellow cards in the first-half.
Think about that.
Poch RESTS them because of how important they will be in pressing on, and loses their full-effect for 45 minutes +. The entire second-half they have to tread a line because Chelski will certainly con a second yellow with any invitation. Our attacking game gets negated by some distance (especially as we lacked Alli's pace in the middle and Mason's injury forced Dembele to drop deep, further reducing our attacking options).

I PERSONALLY think people need to wise-up and see this for what it was, a VERY decent performance in context. And again, NEITHER FB went to CarrierBag, thus nothing can be placed on that trip for their brain-farts/stupid challenges.

The thing is, I like that he's competitive in that way. However, what I dislike is that he appears to be a tool off the field as well, to his teammates and his manager as well: that's what raises my ire.

Draws into wins. Ideally it would be a mid to late 20s player. Even someone like Mane would help, we do need an fire power. How many draws have we accrued this season?

The throwing of the bib was the highlight of the day.

The league is a marathon. There's no point hyperboling a single fixture

We were decent and would traditionally have lost it by giving away a goal on the break or from a set piece.

The only thing potentially concerning about today is Mason's injury.

His competitive spirit cannot be denied and I would love another goal scorer like that in the squad. Just not one that gouges faces, stamps on extended legs, punches, pulls lips, winds up, throws bibs (what did that innocent bib do to deserve that kind of treatment?)...

Unless you are Grimsby, in which case it could be Christmas come early.

Yeah the biggest talking point was Costa; clearly he knew he would not be coming on, so did not warm up, just stood by the corner flag, glowering.

Then came back to the bench and threw his bib at Mourinho, perhaps just catching the back of his head, hard to see from my stream.

There is no way Mourinho will let that pass... I expect fireworks, cook me up some popcorn Jeeves!
