*** Tottenham Hotspur v Bodo/Glimt *** Semi final , 1st leg 1/5/25.

All the pressure is on Spurs. There are virtually no positive result for us. Anything other than a 3+ goal win will be seen as a bad result. Not because we absolutely should steam roll them, but because people think we should, especially with half their first XI out. But they're still capable of hurting us, and we're perfectly capable of shooting ourselves in the foot.

They have absolutely nothing to lose, and might surprise a few. It's being presented as a fairytale story, but they haven't fluked they're way here. They're here on merit.

I honestly have no idea how it will pan out. If we're on it, we should beat them, but I'm not super confident.

Nice to see some respect for our opponents, it's so boring to read about "pig farmers" everytime we play a European team. It's been wonderful to see them get this far and I'm sure most fans would love to see them win it. We've got to make sure they don't.

Pitch, not pit mate. Did they really say it was particularly hard? Surely all top level grass pitches are similarly hard.
Yes, they said it was the best maintained pitch they've ever played on, but that it was also really hard, and speculated that it might be a factor in all our injuries.
I texted my mate who is their GK coach, and he said the same. Felt harder than their artificial pitch, and the ball had almost the same bounce as artifical turf.

It's now been almost ten hours and I'm leaving Stansted on a bus bound for Stratford, then another bus to the hotel. Good thing it's a late kick off tomorrow.

Here is the thing. We have to bully them at home. Lazio lost 2-0 away on their synthetic surface. That means anything else than a 2 goal margin gives us a disadvantage. We should be more aware and better at adapting to this opponent than the Italians were or we risk their fate.

Strange. I've been on the pitch a couple of times for some time, and it felt 'softer' than the OG WHL...this was last season; maybe they've laid new turf this season?

They're very good at home.
It's a difficult transition from grass to artificial pitches and we couldn't even beat Tamworth on one in normal time.
People keep mentioning Tamworth but it's hardly the same, look at the team we played - it's apples and oranges. Obviously going to be a tough game over there but it will be a completely different/stronger team....

And we let in goals for fun. Honestly...we need more than 3 goal lead

Even that team should beat part timers......anyone who sets up well and or has a system we struggle against

I've not got my hopes up, and will expect anything.....usually bad as over 20 losses tells me so.

So until full time next week......

I would love nothing more for us to win the cup against Utd and for Arse to win nothing again this season.

But as it's us.....the opposite will probably happen

So what allocation tonight will Bodo have and will they fill it ??
8k home ground so a huge %'age of those who go would get a ticket for our ground you would think

According to a YouTube video I saw last night, they set the European cup record for away fans at Old Trafford this season, but I find that hard to believe. Either way, I think they will fill their allocation. The entire town of Bodø have a population of 50k people, but they could've sold out the match against us by over 60k (probably also due to Tottenham interest, obviously). Anyways, the interest is huge - there will be a lot of them.
