*** Tottenham Hotspur v Bodo/Glimt *** Semi final , 1st leg 1/5/25.

Yeah, I thought we were decent last night. Tamworth aside, Bodo were probably the lowest quality opposition we've faced this season and after the perfect start they were there to be blown away. But we never really had any sustained periods of pressure and made them suffer. It was fits and starts. Whether that's because we weren't capable or were playing with a bit more caution is the question, I guess.

Either way, a place in the final is all that really matters atm and a 2 goal advantage should be enough unless Bodo show a dramatic improvement in the 2nd leg.

As others have said, very good atmosphere in the ground last night with everyone fully behind the team. Well, except for a few macarons who thought that 3 nil up in a semi final was the perfect time for some 'We want Levy out' chants. Brainless.
They will be at home and get 3 players back from suspension, that late goal with them getting players back will give them some momentum. We need another early goal.

They celebrated at the end in a manner that meant they were happy
The Bodo fans before hand thought any goal for them would swing the tie their way
I know their home form is key but I’m sure @Kandi1977 posted on here that his mate at Bdodo said our pitch was as fast as theirs (or similar). From why I’ve read and heard the key for their home form alongside their set up and team is the pitch speed on plastic
I did see they lost at home to Quarabag and they aren’t very good. Also the weather up there is better than it was when they okayed lazio and Roma (who were in an awful negative spiral)
So we shall see

We don't 'need' an early goal at all. Would one be nice? Sure - but we don't need it, if anyone does they do. If they get an early goal we could really get the jitters. They will doubtlessly be a much tougher proposition in the second leg for obvious reasons but if we keep our shape as we did in the first leg, we have players who will hurt them. If we are pragmatic in the same way we were in the Frankfurt away and first leg of this semi then the odds are in our favour.....

First half we pressed well, and they struggled to get out. Once they adjusted with having their CB's playing narrower and closet together, they could more easily avoid the press from our striker. We need to be able to pin them back. If they get the ball into Berg or Evjen, who are back next week, they can hurt us, as both of them are quality on the ball. Keeping those to quiet will be key!

To be clear am not expecting an easy match at all. But we don't need to go out looking for goals and we look far better when we keep our shape rather than everyone bombing forward, in which instance they will pick us off. Keep things tight, and we have the player quality to hurt Bode....

What I dont get is who are they supplying? Everyone the Bodo attackers went into anything physical they were physical weak and didnt complain about any challenges. They were also so slow yet play on a super fast pitch
Maybe I’m missing something

They need to win 3-0, so we'll definitely have chances.

There was a group a few rows in front of me (East Lower), not the usual ST holders who were chanting ENIC out at that point too.

I’m all for people having a voice, but as @spoonerman says, at 3-0 in an European SF when all support should be positive and behind the club, was ridiculous. To the point, I told them what I thought, and if they felt strongly enough to try and make it a negative atmosphere where the exit was.

@makkag

Molly malones / malones is the new meeting place.

Not been in it for a long time but was a decent boozer and still is I think.
BIL drinks in it occasionally and he's a good guy so I expect it will be a good night.
Top man - will have a walk up and watch in there - thank you! Fingers crossed something to celebrate and can sleep it off on the train back in the morning !

I've watched a match with them but I to an event they held in Edinburgh and they see to be nice enough people, so enjoy and here's hoping!

They were pretty poor.

Felt like we let them have the ball as we knew they wouldn't hurt us

Yeah, didn't get those Levy out chants , literally lasted 5 seconds though
Seemed to come about from singing the ‘new’ Kulu song when he was subbed on, which then morphed into Levy Out chants, briefly. The poor bloke next to me was a bit taken aback when I launched into him (verbally) about supporting the team!

Edit - in the unlikely event this bloke happens to be on here I apologise for my rant! I think all was ok as we were chatting later but it was a bit uncalled for.

It's written in the stars. Either we would be playing the final against Bilbao at their place, or against a Yanited team, we had already beaten comfortably THREE times this season. You all know what happens next?
