I'm wondering why we didn't put a roof on the stadium seeing as the pitch retracts and has artificial grow lights?

Aren't there FIFA rules that insist stadia are open to the elements? A retractable roof over a retractable pitch would be a bit much.
If they don't play the Thunderbirds theme when the pitch is going in an out I'll be disappointed.
Extremely expensive and rarely needed.

Does it?I've just realised how the Wembley roof "closes".
I'm talking permanent, not retractable. Our compression ring was probably as expensive as a full roof spanning the stadium.Extremely expensive and rarely needed.
Does it?
Edit:
Doesn't seem worth the expense if it's only partial?
Great picture and, potentially, great news as well. When we see the stadium properly lit up after completion, it's going to be a hell of a show.
covers all the seats apparently, and is primarily to maximise sunlight for the grass
I've definitely sat there multiple times and opined that I was surprised they hadn't closed the roof for this weather, when they quite clearly had
in hindsight, I'm not sure I've ever been in there with it open

For the first game it should open revealing Levy rising out of the depths muttering one billion poundsIf they don't play the Thunderbirds theme when the pitch is going in an out I'll be disappointed.
The whole stadium isn't worth it. Its a national embarrassment. Its not condusive to creating a decent atmosphere and getting out of the stadium to the tube can take over an hour.
The only reason that it has some cache/reputation/aura is because of the name and the previous stadium's history, not because of the current stadium
Previously this would have been Spurs U23 vs BHA - do we have a home PL2 fixture around then that might get shoe-horned in ?
