For me it will be the loss of the site lines as I walk to the stadium.... when you first glimpse the top of the stadia, that's when the butterflies start. I know it's only 150M, but it won't quite be the same WHL to me. I do think the plans look good though, and I am particularly keen on the Kop stand.... ready to create the Spurs Wall of Sound!

True.

Though, depending upon the height of the various other new developments in the area and the direction from which you approach, the new stadium should loom into sight from considerably further away than the current stadium. So the butterflies will start much earlier!

And, to be honest, there is comparatively little history in the actual bricks and mortar of most of the current WHL. Other than the Shelf side, there is no part of the stadium that was in existence before the 1980's. The two ends were erected as recently as 1994-98. And even the Shelf side was redeveloped almost beyond recognition in the late 80's.

So when the current WHL is demolished, it'll be more the bidding farewell to the precise location (albeit only moving 100-150 yards north) that causes a lump in my throat more than the disappearance of the actual structure.

He is, right down to stopping in Bill Nick Way one day and posing with my then eight year old Spurs/OFAH mad son for a picture. Now sadly lost due to parental incompetence. (The picture-not Roger Lloyd-Pack).

They made all the decisions beforehand for COMs: the design, the legacy tenant and the necessary conversion.

With Wembley they kept changing things as they built it. With the OS they came up with a plan beforehand, but that seemed more designed to keep the IOC and government happy about the legacy. Then when they finally realised or admitted it was a poor plan they had to look for someone to rescue the situation, hopefully with some attempt to keep the legacy promises.

I am one of the few that would like to keep it at around 60k, I'd prefer another row of boxes though.

Making it too big would kill of ticket competition which could endanger the season ticket numbers. It could be an idea to have plans to be able to enlarge though should opportunity arise.

I think the interesting thing will be if they build it with retractable seating because the standing issue is one that is not going to go away. I hate with a passion the EU but if they can stand to watch games in Germany then frankly it is fudging disgusting that they stop us in this country and i imagine against EU law.

I would always choose to seat now but if we get standing in that will boast numbers.

Google gives the full article with signing up, its not the stadium roof but the Sainsburys and education roof. Nice confirmation last line though

KGM wins £3m Spurs roofing contract

Roofing Firm KGM has won a £3m contract to install roofing and cladding on the £400m Tottenham Hotspur development at Northumberland Park.

The job will cover a new Sainsbury’s supermarket, which will be one of the largest in London at 12,000 square metres.

The development also covers 10,200 square metres of commercial and educational space above the supermarket.

KGM will have a full-time project management team based on site, in addition to the roofing and cladding teams.

Mick Papworth, managing director of KGM said: “We are delighted to have been awarded this major contract which has contributed greatly to the £4.4 Million of orders we received in January, breaking all previous sales records already this year!”

Work will begin in March, with the store due to open in November
