I think young Josh is fooked....

The only possible chance will be to come back in January, and somehow try to impress Poch in training and show that he is still bothered.

But time is rapidly going against him, loans don’t seem to be working either, and he’s now been over taken by Skipp, and possibly even Amos despite him being injured!
 
I guess we should thank him for destroying Onomah's confidence.

One would think Swansea were winning when Onomah was on the pitch. Rather it was 0-0.

Onomah also hadn't played for a month. I think Spurs should consider cancelling the loan.

Perhaps he thinks he needs a kick up the arse, I certainly do, he seems happy to stroll around the park thinking his skill and technique will get him through, everyone thinks Ozil is a waster but he has done things, Onomah is going to waste his chance to do anything unless he changes his attitude.

Wow really? Is that opinion based on watching him yesterday? Just that it seemed the majority of fans on that tweet were saying he was one of their best players before being taken off. Did you not read how they were slating the Wednesday manager for trying to blame a loanee rather than his own players some of whom they are convinced he is being excessively protective of.

Josh has apparently been out for over a month so maybe he did have a poor spell for a few minutes early on but surely that is not unexpected in the circumstances?

Disappointing for a Spurs fan to be so eager to damn him when the majority of Wednesday fans who actually watched the game were defending him.

The Wednesday manager will be sacked soon, might be worth seeing if they replace him with someone who knows what they’re doing before deciding anything.

I was drinking with a mate whose a Wednesday fan last night and he said that the sub made no sense as he was one of their better players in the first half.

The managers a dead man walking apparently, says some completely contradictory things in interviews. Like how he “can’t pick certain players in the squad as he hasn’t seen them play a competitive game”, yet he’s the one picking the team so how is that situation going to resolve itself! Lol!

No it's based on the dozen or so games I've seen him play for us, Wednesday and England, there is no point in having talent if you are not prepared to work within the team, he lacks any drive and strolls about which at his age and the stage in his career is totally unacceptable. Like many young players at Spurs he is over hyped by people who have not seen him, I don't doubt his talent I think he is either lazy or lacks self motivation.

Puzzled how you know it's only people who have not watched him that overhype him? It's frankly more likely the people who have not watched him closely that ridicule him. Because imo he is one of those players who can LOOK like they are not really trying, in the same way that Chrissie Waddle used to get pilloried by fans in his early days at Tottenham for APPEARING to be lazy.

True he's not been pulling up any trees in the Championship, but going by the numerous comments on that tweet he was clearly making a favourable impression on the majority of Wednesday fans so it does seem somewhat strange that you've chosen this particular time to turn on him.

On a lighter note, even the great Lionel Messi is lauded for his ability to mesmerise the opposition whilst standing stock still! :D :D :D

We keep screwing over our players sending them to play for terrible coaches. We used to be more choosy about this - there was a while where we were only sending players to wherever Mark Warburton was etc.
 
Is it a case of beggars can't be choosers though? I mean if clubs were banging on the door for him, then maybe we could pick one well suited to him. If he only has the choice of some minutes in the Championship with a club he's not suited to or nothing at all at Tottenham, what's better?

This is my feeling as well. Onomah isn't a bad player at all, but he's been sent out to play under Steve Bruce, and then this bloke. Hardly the best for his development.
 
When you are a young player it's up to you to impress your manager, some players need more encouragement than others but Onomah has reached the age where he's got to command a start with his performances as Loftus Cheek has, if he doesnt he'll just drift from club to club. It's in his own hands, he must grab the opportunity. We all have to do things we don't want to as we think we can do better doing something else but you have to buckle down. I'll be over the moon to see Onomah show us what other Messi skills he has apart from standing still.

He played exceptionally well for England in the U-20 world cup last year. Do you mean since then?

I think that's a matter of opinion he was in a very good team and was out shown buy Cook, Dowell and Maitland-niles. I sincerely hope he wakes up and smells the coffee, but when I see people say he could replace Dembele I have to laugh, he has no drive and despite having a good range of skills he wants to play at walking pace. There's only one person who will change my mind about Onomah and that him.
 
As with the seniors, Spurs finished 2nd behind Barcelona in their UEFA Youth League group. The 8 group winners automatically qualify for the last 16 knockout round. The other 8 places in the last 16 are decided by a play-off round between the group runners-up and the winners from the Domestic Champions path. In the play-off round Spurs have been drawn away to PAOK in a one-off tie to be played on 19 February.

I thought he was the best player for England but as you say people see different things. So if not the best then certainly one of the best IMO so using England as an example of poor performance is a little disingenuous. The comparison to Dembele's style is apt too, especially in that tournament, and I think that is what people are getting at rather than he is good enough to replace Dembele. He is not.

As for his loans spells well I can't comment but they don't seem to be going to well for whatever reason. Having an average or poor loan spell does not mean the end, however. Sometimes a poor loan can be the wakeup call a player needs. I hope so in this case as the talent is there.

I think I understand why you are writing him off then, if you think he was outshone by all those players in that tournament then certainly nothing he has done for anyone else before or since will impress you. That tournament is as good as he’s played.
 
Such a shame for Luke Amos that he missed this season.
Imagine the good fortune for Skippy - ahead of him was a host of top players - with more signings likely in the summer - then suddenly we make zero signings, the starters all get injured, even Amos... and blam he gets his chance.
