They will also happily switch the play into space when the opportunity arises. That keeps the opposition in their toes as they know they can't really allow too much in behind or allow the likes of Salah to man to man with their defenders. That does help keep the compression as the defenders are always thinking about what's behind them and supporting their teammate to deny isolations.Look at Liverpool. Watching them play I was wondering how their press is so consistent and effective. From that graph it seems either the system they play allows it to be a ‘compressed’ or positional press. So they sprint quite a lot but not long distances or situational press, ie they only press in certain circumstances.
Either way, that seems an infinitely more sustainable, efficient and effective way to play - with room to ask a bit more from your players on occasion.
Seems sensible to me.
I read it as 74/75 was the first season. Arthur Albiston played for United then and was still at the club when Ferguson took over.Who was the player from 73?
There are a lot of them about and most of them are not worth the paper they are written on.
well its like the stock market and the trends we see - its based on past performance... still makes for good discussion and propping up beliefs!
We are doomed i tell you, doomed. In recent weeks i have now seen the following stats about Spurs....
Given the ball away more than any other team in the Premier league - as just mentioned above....
Equal bottom of shots in the Premier league
Equal bottom of shots in the 36 team champions league.
But top of he table for outperforming our XG ( we shouldn't have scored as many goals as we have) and also for outperforming our XG against ( we should have conceded a lot more goals than we actually have).....
Whatever we all think of stats, and I know we have injuries, but they are quite disturbing....

I hadn't seen them collected together like that. I agree as a group that is concerning because it suggests the results are unsustainable in the long run given our statistical performance. At the same time I don't actually feel with my eyes that we have been that bad just lacking in quality in the fairly obvious areas and it's just a continuation of the problems we've had now for years. In recent weeks i have now seen the following stats about Spurs....

Biggest player at losing the ball in that data I believe is Kudus
Our passing seems to get worse year an yearI hadn't seen them collected together like that. None of that is surprisingIn recent weeks i have now seen the following stats about Spurs....

The only stats that matter is goals for and against. And as long as that is in our favour, how we get there is irrelevant to me.In recent weeks i have now seen the following stats about Spurs....
