The Official 2022/23 Premier League Thread

Ah yes, the old, "They would have taken being level with City with a game in hand at this time of the year at the start of the season" card

How about when they were 7pts clear on New years day???
Will be glossed over like last season and also the year when Leicester won it Arsenal were top for a huge amount of time
10 points dropped in the last 6 games yet will get a massively free ride from the media

Mentioned this at work today. That little fact is never mentioned. The only time we were ever top was for about 15 mins DURING the Arsenal game, but is was us who bottled the league. Whatever suits the narrative I suppose

and the narrative is that we are the biggest bottlers going, we are well up there though haha

Yeah that was him. He was insufferable. Bigging Woolwich up at every opportunity. Couldn’t believe what I was hearing.
After the game I switched over to watch the rest of the Chelsea game on BT Sport. There was an appallingly insufferable female co-comm (Lucy something?). Anything vaguely positive from Chelsea was worshipped. Every time Chelsea fouled something up it was not their fault or it was better to talk about something positive before the mistake. If Dortmund did something good...silence, or eventually grudging comment dragged out by the main guy.
Go to Chelsea TV if you can't help but make Alan Smith appear neutral

I hope you are right but never underestimate City's capacity to balls up. Pep loves to tinker.

I love how Pep is made out to be some absolute idiotic fudge up on here as if he's an absolute macaron whilst Poch is heralded despite winning with us nothing in addition to the Son at LB experiment in a crucial game.

Pep has undeniably only done it with massive teams, or at least massively funded teams in the case of City but that doesn't make him a total macaron, he has maximized his career*

*I would love to see him somewhere like Plymouth Argyle but it just wouldn't make sense financially and in terms of his potential impact on the game, if people can't appreciate that it's on the individual posters, not Pep. Whoever wins the title they'll no doubt both be macarons, it's so typical and far from the truth.
