The Official 2018/19 Premier League Thread

And we thought we were having bad luck! Hopefully this isn’t as bad as it seems.

There is "genuine concern" Premier League footballer Emiliano Sala was on a flight which disappeared between France and Cardiff.

It is feared the Argentine striker was one of two people on board the Piper Malibu, which disappeared off Alderney on Monday night.

Cardiff City, which signed the 28-year-old from French club Nantes on Saturday, said it was "seeking clarification" as to what happened.

A search is under way.

Cardiff Airport confirmed the aircraft was due to arrive from Nantes but a spokeswoman said there were no further details.

Blimey, that's terrible. Poor guy, one day excited about a move the Premier League then this happens 3 days later.

When you read how much he was admired and appreciated by his Nantes team mates, when you consider the life-changing commitment he made to come to Europe at such an early age yet still remained in close contact with his family in Argentina, and then consider how he'd persevered to finally make his breakthrough to the top league, this is as sad and gut-wrenching a situation as I can imagine.

Don't start griping to me about our injury situation.

For a couple of weeks anyway.

Are we still racking up points at a record clip? Not long ago - about the halfway point - there were reports that this was the best start to a season any Spurs team had made. Where are we at now?

Last time I checked we were on course for an 84 point finish. But there was also a stat around here saying we were 12 (?) points better off now than at the same stage last season. This was after beating Fulham I believe.

FWIW... this remains our best EPL campaign after 23 games, just ahead of ‘Mind the Gap’... although Bill Nicholson’s boys in their heyday would have course have racked up more points if they awarded 3pts for a win back then...

City completely dominating possession, but barely having any attempts on goal. We desperately need some early goal luck on Saturday.
