The Official 2016/17 Premier League Thread

Oh, well, top four looking all the likelier now that City lost. Chelsea can still slip, but I reckon they're out of reach now, really.

They have been for a while I think. We may close the gap a little.

But we only 7 points off our record total with 8 to play. We could smash our previous best which is a massive achievement.

Yes. Honestly, 7pts over 8 games is a few points too many to chase down, when you bear in mind how many matches they have lost all season.

Finishing 2nd has got to be the realistic target though (no harm in keeping the pressure on Chelsea). CL football got a real step closer these last 4 days.

8pts clear of 5th with 8 games left, and thats worst case scenario assuming United or Arsenal win their game in hand, which IIRC, are City v United. Southampton v Arsenal.
So could even be 10pts with 8 left, plus better GD.

We're not there yet. But if we can win the next 2 home games, we will probably secure a Top 4 finish by avoiding defeat in the final 2 home matches

City were terrible. All out attack in the first half and Chelsea could do their usual sit back and counter thing. The fact that they don't have a keeper cost them this game. Then John Stones happened.

Silva will leave Hull at the end of the season and manage in LA Liga, something like Valencia would be a good fit.
