The Official 2015/16 Premier League Thread

BT's coverage is far better than Sky. When they show replays, they quickly cut away if the play resumes whereas Sky are happy to show 5 replays of the same incident even if it means the viewer misses a goal.

The pundits are better also.

Emirates Marketing Project win tomorrow please.

We gain 3 points on Leicester and City will go level on points with them (so we don't lose out on anything) - but they keep up with Arsenal. Emirates Marketing Project have the depth and experience to go the distance and stop Arsenal from winning the league. Leicester do not and I wouldn't trust us to do so.

Chelsea are not going to catch us, United on the other hand are a threat for the top 4.

Only benefit is that if LvG really is failing it's better if he fails slowly rather than getting out of there quickly and make room for someone that might not fail.

Agreed and well reasoned. A City win tomorrow would see us 3 points behind Leicester. We have a tougher game than them after that (they're at home to Bournemouth, we're away to Everton), but if we manage to match their result we would be going into the game against them with a chance to overtake them by winning the game.

+1

I want City to win because it means that we will only be 4 points from the top of the table at the half-way point of the season.

*EDIT* a draw is also fine for the same reason.

This is how Emirates Marketing Project compare to the rest of the Premier League when Kompany is absent:

Shots on Target Faced (per game)
Sunderland
6.19
Saudi Sportswashing Machine 5.56
Emirates Marketing Project without Kompany 5.50
Everton 5.19
Aston Villa 5.13
Stoke 5.13
Chelsea 5.06
Norwich 4.63
West Brom 4.63
West Ham 4.63
Bournemouth 4.25
Leicester 4.19
Swansea 4.19
Crystal Palace 4.13
Watford 3.81
Arsenal 3.69
Manchester United 3.38
Southampton 3.38
Tottenham 3.38
Liverpool 2.81
Emirates Marketing Project with Kompany 1.50

Total reliance on Kompany. These stats should also stand us in good stead for Everton.

Emirates Marketing Project missing Kompany, this is what happens when he doesn't play http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2015/12/1...-city-completely-different-side-with-without/.

Part of the problem at City is just how much they rely on several individual players...

Either one of Hart, Kompany, Toure, Silva or Aguero missing and their performance levels seem to drop heavily. All there and in form they can turn really good, frighteningly good. But just one missing and they can look so average.

Unlike a one man team the chance of one of those 5 being injured at any given time is quite high.

One would have thought that spending £100m on Sterling and De Bruyne this summer would have gone some way towards fixing that. Perhaps some of the problems when Silva has been out has been sorted out. But they still rely way too heavily on too many individuals. I'm lacking a term for that as it's not a one man team. But at the same time saying 5 men team makes no sense.

City the better team judged on the match reports and stats, but it's a draw and a good result for us.

4 points off first, one point off third, best defensive record in the league and only three teams have scored more goals than us.

Pretty damn good halfway through the season!
