The Official 2014/15 Premier League Thread

If Southampton finish 8th after losing highly thought of Poch and half the team, mostly their best players, then that's a fantastic season.

No they wont. Southampton fans are as fickle as all the rest. The problem with a brilliant start is that the only way is down !

Come, they are still Southampton and had a summer of upheaval after which everyone including saints fans thought they would go down. 8th will be more than acceptable.

I agree............that what they "should" feel. But we all know thats not how it works. Look at the history of the premier league and how many managers over achieve to get a "small" club promoted from the championship into the premier league. Its all forgotton by christmas when this newly promoted team is in the relegation zone and the fans are calling for their head. Look at Laudrup at Swansea - wins them their first major trophey in their history and the following season they want him out.

Success and over achieving is quickly forgotten by the fans. Just look at us for a prime example.

Blind has been diabolical so far, but I've seen enough to know he'd have been a good signing for us. Stambouli is better.

BBC Feed has just said something similar to what I was going to post here - and still shall.
The serious questions must keep being asked of Van Gaal that they can have spent so much money and end up playing Emirates Marketing Project with Carrick and Valencia in their back 4.
