We've seen it all before though. Teams have a brilliant start, then come the new year they collapse. Not saying it definetly will, but there is still much more chance of Southampton finishing 8th then top 4.

Although statistically most teams that are in the top 4 after 9 games finish in the top 4

theres almost zero chance that they will finish top 4. even finishing above us will be an almighty task for them. a better question is, will they finish closer to 1st or to 20th.

If Southampton finish 8th after losing highly thought of Poch and half the team, mostly their best players, then that's a fantastic season.

Also noticed that Stuart Attwell has made his comeback in the PL today at Leicester - WBA

He got binned a couple of years ago after several mistakes

Goons up into 4th as it stands. Won't be long before the top 4 is established between Chelsea, City, Utd and Arsenal.

depends what you mean by "flash in the pan". all i know is if they want to compete at top 4-6 level, they will need to pay top 4-6 money. i guess when they have that money, thats when they will stop being a flash in the pan
