The Official 2014/15 Premier League Thread

And West Ham are a decent side. They should have beaten us, they smashed Liverpool and got a deserved win v City. They are also playing some half-decent football.

they SHOULD have beaten us? why? they missed the target from 12 yards, criminal from a pro footballer and couldnt take chances. We took our chance. Why should a team that fails to score and lets an opposing right back run forward unmarked score a winning goal win a game?

Maybe you'll answer then, where are they gonna finish?

We had 10 men in that game by the way. We were every bit worthy of at least a draw. An undeserved sending off as well!

They should have beaten us because they should have scored their penalty and created a lot of very good chances. We rode our luck and took our chance, but if they score the penalty (and all penalties should be scored imo) then they'd have won it quite easily.

Though if you want to be a d1ck for thew sake of it, then I've no interest in going around in circles -- I can't tell though.

As for where they will finish, I have no idea. Somewhere in the top 10 I expect, no doubt they'll go through a bad spell at some point.

luck is for losers. What were we lucky with? the ****e penalty they take? how could you possibly know theyd have won if they scored the pen? you don't, no one does. But we looked more than comfortable with 10 men with Dier at right back, Capoue at centre half, in our first competitive game under a new manager in a new system. and we won..

We should have beaten Sunderland, we didn't. West Ham should have beaten us, but they didn't. This happens in football. Let's stop talking to one another Mumorn, because you are annoying me.

Ok so that's exactly what's been said here, so top ten. Yet the people who say their current position of 4th is false and they'll still do well to finish above us are laughable and in Denial apparentely, hhmmmm.

I would be very surprised if they finish 4th, same as I'd be surprised if Southampton finish 2nd. They'll have dips/injuries/suspensions at some point.

Although none of the expected teams (Arsenal, Liverpool, Us, Everton, Utd) look very good at the moment, so I can see why people are being overly optimistic about West Ham. But I would expect West Ham to drop in performance at some point, the same as I'd expect a couple of the 'expected' challengers to get better.

but youre calling it luck.. why is it luck? we weren't good enough to beat Sunderland and West Ham weren't good enough to beat us, thats the way it is.

West Ham will finish 12th atleast imo

I think that positions prob slightly harsh, but with teams that are in the league this year I definitely think 8th is their ceiling.

Liverpool 2-0 Hull

although this Liverpool team is short of goals, they should have enough about them to get the three points.

Sunderland 1-1 Arsenal

Arsenal are overdue a good performance but being away in Europe will affect them and I have a feeling they might drop more points.

Said Lawro that twunticle

city werent as sharp as they were against us and they did play midweek but west ham impressed me not for the first time this season, theyre nailed on for a top 10 finish and may finish above us

Like lots of people said Arsenal were "nailed on" to definitely fight for the title this season. Im always stunned how people get drawn into assumptions based on just 8 or 9 games. It happens every single year.

West Ham will probably end up 14th.

Just like last season, we have missed another golden chance to fight for league title this season. We would have been in title chase last season if we had forced Bale to stay. This season, we failed to sign enough quality players which will stop us from fighting for the league title again. Just like last season, there are no outstanding teams in the league. Any team who can be consistent will find themselves rising up the league table. Look at Southampton and West Ham ! What a chance we wasted !

Chelsea, they will win the league by 10 plus points, they are head and shoulders above everybody else

Considering the ****e Southampton have picked up their points against, their current run of form won't last forever.
If they do well against everybody but the top 4 they then what's the problem.

anyone's whos opinion is worth listening to didnt think arsenal would be a major contender. over the past few years, i think arsenal were rated at around 7/8% to win the title by the betting exchanges(bookies). if i remember correctly, they started this season at around 10%.
