Should I be taking Lukaku out of my FF team for the moment? Can't seem to get a look-in with Mourinho and tonight can't have helped his chances.

He did take the game to them sometimes at Real, as they were close to Barca in quality.

This Chelsea side is good, but nowhere near Bayern in quality imo.

Spends hundreds of millions at every club he goes to and parks the bus.

He actually got more success against Barca when he attacked them and ditched all the anti football nonsense. Parking the bus got them a 5 goal hammering in one game.

Didn't the comm say BM had 85% possession in their last game? BM were pretty stupendous tonight and it was a great display by Chelsea to keep in the game and nearly win.

But they ****ing did not win and that has gotta knock them.
 
So glad they lost, was great to see the smug git lose again. Shame Lukaku took that last pen as he seems like a nice guy who will be totally wasted under Jose. The only thing to make last night better would have been Terry missing the last pen.

I quite like the fact that Lukaku was taking the pen only because JT (captain, leader, hero) didn't have the guts to stand up and take one again.

Think this loan move for Jake could be perfect for him to develop further. Not sure if he'll be able to make it back into the squad when he comes back, but he'll definitely be much improved.

on another note, City look rather mehh. Hull have had the better chances
 
I hate the way BT has Mark Halsey as a co-commentator. They probably claim he's there to enhance viewer understanding of the game, but in fact the not-so-subtle subtext of his presence is that it elevates the importance of any controversial refereeing decisions that happen. Him being there anticipates that refereeing will likely play some kind of central part of the story of the game, just the same as the strikers' finishing or midfielders' passing or coaches' formations. Its almost like they're hoping reffing controversy will happen. That's cheap and tricksy - like ITV are cheap for loving penalty shoot outs because your mum can get into them - and not a serious sign they actually want to educate the viewer. Reffing isn't important enough to warrant it.
