I'd have loved Lukaku at Spurs a lot more though
Were we ever linked and close to signing Lukaku?

Not sure about that, you know yourself when he dived Bale he got **** off people on here
I don't know what the odds are but it might be worth a punt on London top 3 and bottom 3 this season.
Football is a psychological game. West Ham walked out a WHL and thought they had a chance of getting 0-0. They turned up today already beaten.
AVB encourages this by not goin at teams right from the start instead targets the end of games when team are tired.
But by then teams think they are in the game and arent gonna give it up easily like West Ham are right now.
We lost because we give West Ham hope.
Yes, it was. The full back had his arm raised when the cross was made, making himself bigger. When the ball then hits the arm it has to be a penalty, otherwise defenders can stand with their arms all over the place all of the time.
I think there are far too few penalties given for such incidents, though.

He was impressive today. A nice "type" who seems to love his football and always makes the goalie make a save.
Harrys teams we went at teams from the first minute
Not often I agree with you, but yes it's true.
I look at Arsenal this season for example and ALOT of their goals come within the opening 20 or so minutes after dominating possession, this sets them up well for the rest of the game because they know even if the opposition can create a chance or even score that they have the ability to create and score more than them. Chelsea have done it at times this season (although its usually a different story if they concede first)
We seem to be the opposite where we go out simply NOT to concede, so when we do, due to our lack of creating chances we find it hard to get a way back in the game but we'll continue to defend solidly (not sure what happened against West Ham), when our aim should be to pressure up the pitch early on, get a goal as early as possible and then perhaps worry about defending and keeping a cleansheet.
he did, but he also got people defending him simply because he was a Spurs player.
Rose tinted glasses Paxo; we had loads of games that were turbo****e under Harry with no penetration and no clue, and loads that were excellent.
I wouldn't go that far. When arms are down by a player's side, and he doesn't have a chance of getting it away from the line of the ball, then it shouldn't be a foul in my opinion. But when defenders make their frame bigger by raising their arms, then I think it should be a foul.Handball should be an automatic foul. At one time players in a defensive wall at free kicks were getting away with hands above their head. That does not happen any more. You would not see defenders "accidentally" getting their arms in the way in the penalty area if handball was an automatic foul.
West Ham won't finish 3rd, that's just silly!

I'd have loved Oscar at Spurs, such a shame it never went through. Works ridiculously hard, intercepts, tackles and add to that his brilliant dribbling ability, vision and goals. Almost the perfect player up field.
