The "Official" 2013/14 Other teams matches thread

West Ham are the worst team I've seen this season, bar Crystal Palace. And we ****ing lost 3-0 to them.

They don't ever attack...they can't ****ing defend...how can a team that rarely attacks score 3 ****ING GOALS and the team that can't defend KEEP A CLEAN SHEET......AWAY. It still ****es me off immensely.

cheers guys, i had just erased that from my memory

on a come down and 3 ****ing hours worth of traffic before the game - and then had to endure that. don't think i even had a beer

I just hope they dont win in the cup at the lane, that would be hard to take !!!!!

A Spurs fan complaining about another team getting a soft penalty

This annoys me. The only soft penalty we've had this season was the one against Swansea, but we should have a clear penalty earlier in that game so those cancel each other out.

Having said that, the Arsenal penalty today was also a definite penalty. I don't see how it can characterised as 'soft'.

Hull City was not a pen.

this.

couldnt give a **** about the loss at home, was in the past. I was annoyed at the time but it's in the past, every team has one of those games a season, thats ours and lets hope its the only one. Lose to them at home in the cup though and like you, would be pretty hard to stomach.

I'd have loved Oscar at Spurs, such a shame it never went through. Works ridiculously hard, intercepts, tackles and add to that his brilliant dribbling ability, vision and goals. Almost the perfect player up field.

but lets himself down by being one of the biggest cheats in the PL, leaves a nasty taste in the mouth

I can't understand why keepers don't pull out of those more often. 90% of the time, the forward has already forgotten about the ball and is just looking to leave his leg in for the keeper to catch. Give the ref a different decision to make.

I completely agree. The forward is always looking for the pen and the percentage decision for the goalie is do nothing and the forward winds up getting a yellow for simulation.

Seriously, how the f#ckin ell did we lose to this West Ham team?

Football is a psychological game. West Ham walked out a WHL and thought they had a chance of getting 0-0. They turned up today already beaten.
AVB encourages this by not goin at teams right from the start instead targets the end of games when team are tired.
But by then teams think they are in the game and arent gonna give it up easily like West Ham are right now.
We lost because we give West Ham hope.

Hull City was not a pen.

Yes, it was. The full back had his arm raised when the cross was made, making himself bigger. When the ball then hits the arm it has to be a penalty, otherwise defenders can stand with their arms all over the place all of the time.

I think there are far too few penalties given for such incidents, though.

I'd have loved Lukaku at Spurs a lot more though

Not often I agree with you, but yes it's true.

I look at Arsenal this season for example and ALOT of their goals come within the opening 20 or so minutes after dominating possession, this sets them up well for the rest of the game because they know even if the opposition can create a chance or even score that they have the ability to create and score more than them. Chelsea have done it at times this season (although its usually a different story if they concede first)

We seem to be the opposite where we go out simply NOT to concede, so when we do, due to our lack of creating chances we find it hard to get a way back in the game but we'll continue to defend solidly (not sure what happened against West Ham), when our aim should be to pressure up the pitch early on, get a goal as early as possible and then perhaps worry about defending and keeping a cleansheet.
