The Cricket Thread

Cracking last couple of sessions in store at Taunton - an injured Banton helped put on 70 for the last wicket to give Surrey a target of over 200.

If Somerset win then I have them favourites for their first ever county championship.

They play a desperately out of form Lancashire away and then are at home against Hants - at which time Surrey will be at Chelmsford.

Somerset won with a grim grind from Surrey ending with just a couple of overs left in the game.

Only 8 points in the championship race between the now.

Somerset and Surrey meet in the t20 semi finals this weekend - which will be quite a contrast in pace and style.
 
One day cup final washed out yesterday and reduced to 20 overs for the reserved day today.

This competition is a waste of space in my opinion. Takes up too much of the best part of summer.

County Championship games still going on (and getting rained off) at the end of Sept, just so they could fit that stupid Hundred competition into the peak weather month of August.

I'm afraid with Indian investment the 100 isn't going anywhere soon
