I think he's assuming no draws. Two draws seems unlikely in the modern game unless the weather is really bad (and it looks like a hot month ahead).

Bell & Trott look solid and comfortable but obv the lunch break can be bad for batsmen, if those two can stay till tea England will be right back in the game
