This is really odd. the moderator on another site I use hardly ever says anything, let alone pretend to have info about a player, yet I logged on this morning to find this.....

A rare piece of ITK from me. Apparently the word is currently that benteke is deciding between Athletico and Chelsea, with Spurs either not or not yet in contention. This from a friend speaking to friends of the player at the Spa racing circuit in Belgium...

I've obviously told him I want to know more, and questioned the info because of Benteke's agent saying that there was almost no chance he'd be signing for Chel$ki. Hopefully he answers soon.

Chelsea are pre-occupied with Rooney and Suarez, Benteke has let it be known he wants to be a first teamer and Spurs are his ideal choice, his agent has said that his client wants european football, not necessarily CL football.....Its all in our hands, if we want him we can get him imo

Villa have even said they want any deal done quickly as long as the asking price is met. This looks like a very straight forward deal. Lets simply buy him and then start off loading the deadwood.

AVB deserves to get in a good striker and start integrating him asap

If the asking price is deemed too high, than it is anything but a straight forward deal.

I have been a bit quiet of late bur that's mainly as I had no news. Ok so this is what i was told why we have Ade and Defoe we will only bring in 1 more striker, they are working on a few names but not very close. No real activity for players we would let go, AVB has given the chairman two groups of targets, first team and youngsters, a lot of possibles but all dependant on others.

We are having difficulty re the striker situation as Chelsea, Man C and Arsenal are all heavily in the market, we will not pay £25m for Benteke. Too me it seems nothings changed we know are areas of weakness and we still have made little progress, avb wants three more in before the first game of the season, unlikely to happen.

the three positrons he wants players are a forward, wing forward and left back. Looking hard at Portugese and Italian Markets for bargains, we will not be in for Shaw, want Delfoue but likely to go to Everton as he will get more first team football. Jelavic may be an option at the last minute.

Answer: More a case of not enough Cash we already spent £15m.

Maybe I did not make it clear, we could bring in another player for say £15 m but that would be it, hence the need to sell some to bring in 3 or 4.

Except us and Villa are about £10m apart on price (£28m cf £18m). IMO we'll eventually both gravitate towards something like £18m + Livermore.

But then Chelsea will nip in, pay the asking price; and we'll end up with Torres.

I think Pjanic is more creative, but yeah, will cost double what Eriksen will. I wouldn't mind either if we think they can play as a left forward; but I don't want another CM.

I'd hate to see Sig go personally. I know people bemoan player plus cash deals but it is a definite bargaining chip. He is not deadwood by any means and Lambert would surely see this.

My own ITK:

Expect heavy links during the season between us and Jonathan Williams at Palace. Also don't be surprised, if he does well in the Premier League to see us sign him in January and loan him back on either a 5, or 18 month loan deal. Very strong interest, and he has spoken to our own Welshman about the club.

I think we'd be stupid to let Siggy leave, he is one of our players that I'm excited to see play when the new season starts, perhaps he wasn't consistently brilliant but he's shown enough times that he's got that spark, and also began to work really hard for the team once he started getting regular game time, we've got a real player on our hands.

I would say the Beneteke deal would be on back burner as Mr Baldini will be looking for better value for money like his job description probably says.
