The best Spurs team of the PL era - right wing forward

Who is the best right wing forward to play for Spurs in the Premier League?

Anderton was probably the better player all up

Lennon however for me was a key part of the group of players that dragged Spurs out of a decade or more of mediocrity and got us to best of the rest and CL (and a good run in CL). Lennon was probably a better team player as well ... he gets my vote.

The short list:

Anderton
Lennon

one post up. Making my case.

I want Bale and Ginola in the team. And that can work. So Bale needs to be in this list.

Two players who arguably failed to fulfill their potential managed to keep hold of the shirt for long periods of time because the drop off in quality was so big - easily our weakest selection of players if you was to do say a top 10, Left Mid may be similar actually

Anderton was England's best wide player of the mid-to-late 90s and starred in the very strong Euro 96 and WC 98 sides.

Behind only Sheringham he was probably our player of the 90s.

I wouldn't call that unfulfilled potential.

I think Davies should be on the list as a honourable mention, even if Anderton and Lennon are the only genuine contenders.

I don't think Bale should be considered here. He mainly played left back, left midfield and left wing forward for us, although he also played a free role later, but I think that was more through the centre than from the right. Ginola also played behind the striker sometimes, although I think we might have other contenders for that role.

He played 5.25 of his 6 years with us at LM

Both redknapp and AVB played him right wing, he also played left wing of course but his consistent best performances were from the right. If he's not included it's madness.

I'm not sure about your memory on the amount of time played LM, he also played about half a season at full back as well.

I think that Super Si should be on the list.

Let's hear some other people's views on Bale being included on this shortlist.

Yes to Davies, no to Bale. Might as well include Lennon in the LW vote and Kane as a goalie. Or just list every player and let people pick all their favourites in any non-formation they like.

Did I imagine Bale playing right wing all season the year he won player of the season? I just don't get why he's not considered for that position, makes no sense?!

Anyway, I'm clearly on my own here so I'll try and leave it, but your all mentalists! ;)

I thought Bale had a roaming, central 'free role' under AVB, like a number 10.

He was effectively playing in the #10 position rather than out right.

This team has to contain Bale and Ginola. So one of them has to be shoe horned in on the right and they can flip flop positions.

So ill go for Bale in this position.
Bale had his best season for us playing through the middle...
