The best Spurs team of the PL era - centre forward

Who is the best centre forward to play for Spurs in the Premier League?

That was a bit of a cliché from his second stint at the club when his powers were fading.

He was an exceptional forward who carried us offensively for nearly all the 00s.

agreed, his goals saved us from relegation twice and he was an important part of the CC winning team

until the Liverpool interest came (and was clearly off) he kept his toys in his pram despite having periods of warming the bench

a class act, my favourite player of that period without doubt

I'm a bit surprised at the love for Keane; he frustrated me no end when he spent half the game pointing and shouting and dummying it to their centre half.

I think Klinnsman was the class act on the world stage, he was the best player when you take your Spurs glasses off
I am always more surprised at the lack of love for Keane. He pointed and shouted because he cared and wanted to win.

Keane was a fantastic player, hugely underrated by much of our support I think. If you go back and watch a compilation of his Spurs goals you then tend to appreciate even more what a good player he was.

Interestingly enough when Jenas did his one to eleven thing on the fantasy football show on Sky, he had Keane in there as his centre forward - despite the fact that he played with Berbatov and Shearer. If I remember correctly I think Jenas said that Keane had the best movement of any player that he played alongside.

I think its because people mostly remember his move to liverpool and then his second spell with us when he wasnt quite as good as before.

With those names ( Crouch and Crouch) it should be who was the worst CF in the Prem for us.

Toss up between Berbatov and Klinsmann for me and have narrowly voted for Klinsmann . Still remember being fascinated by Klinsmann's movement for us particularly in his first spell almost to the point of not watching the game!

Keano is the standout for me.

8 seasons as our main man, compared to 2 from Berbs and Kane and 1.5 from Klinsmann

I had the same feeling when i fisrt saw Lineker play for us, he was always a good striker but it was his movement without the ball that made him a great striker.

Berbs had 10 times the ability though.

In fact, I'm not sure how much longevity should really count here as for most of the PL era our better players have been snapped up by the top teams. Had Keane been even nearly as good as Berbatov he'd have been off to United after 2 seasons too.
