JORDAN ARCHER (Bishop's Stortford) 17.03.2012 vs Workington (A) 1-1 (D) Conference North (Round 33)
Has now made his 30th appearance for the club, the first of our loanees to achieve this.

Scott had a header tipped over the bar by visiting keeper Jordan Archer. From the following corner Arnison tested the keeper again, but he was up to the challenge and kept the Reds out until half time.

Unfortunately we gifted them their goal when we didn't clear our lines and passed it to their forward to score.

BLUES boss Rod Stringer wants to bring in cover for keeper Jordan Archer before the transfer deadline.

Stringer said: “I’m hoping to sign a keeper by Friday. Jordan was not well [on Tuesday] but he had to play [at FC Halifax Town] and it was quite worrying. I need somebody that can do a job for me.”

The Blues boss fears the 18-year-old stopper will miss the trip to Workington this Saturday.

Archer, who is attached to Spurs, has performed well for Stortford since he made his debut in the 1-0 win at Canvey Island in the second qualifying round of the FA Cup.

OSCAR JANSSON (Shamrock Rovers) 16.03.2012 vs Cork City (A) 1-1 (D) League of Ireland (Round 3)
Is now dividing opinion amongst Hoops fans, some are blaming him for every goal he's conceded, others are more rational and willing to give him more time. It seems the goal he conceded was unfortunate to some and terrible to others.

The home side took the lead when a speculative shot by Kavanagh from 30 yards out took an awkward bounce in front of Jansson and ended up in the back of the net.

Jansson was really poor for the goal, he has to get his body behind that. Schoolboy stuff.

I don't want to be too critical of Jansson, but to me it was a clear mistake last night. The bounce was unlucky, but his positioning was wrong. He went down too early, and didn't seem to allow for the fact the ball was going to bobble in front of him.

Jansonn is very very error prone, already hes cost goal against Waterford,Goal against Cork, got away with terrible kick out v Drogheda got away with leaving Powell short from goal kick v Cork and got away with spilling the free kick v Bohs in the LSC.

Jansson had a good game bar the one mistake. Claimed the ball well, couple of good saves and his kicking was good. Very over the top reaction from some on here.Seems some are just waiting to have a go. Goal he let in was unfortunate.

Thought jansson had a good game, looked comfortable under the crosses and made a couple of vital saves. yes he misjudged their goal, but it bounced right in front of him, he save two penos vs bohs on monday, made some very good saves vs cville, and vs drogs and mons there was little he could do for the goals. think you're being very harsh on him.

Give Jansson time, took a mad bounce right in front of him, should have saved it but stuff like that happens even the best of keepers.

Jesus what else did Heurehlo Gomes teach this one?

Rubbish keeper. fudging joke.

Get rid of that swede terrible keeper.

IMO Oscar hasn't done enough to be dropped just yet.

Fair play to Oscar coming up for the corner. Seemed determined to make amends.

MIRKO RANIERI (Viareggio) 18.03.2012 vs Lumezzane (H) 4-0 (W) Lega Pro Prima Divisione (Round 27)
It remains to be seen whether he will be recalled from his loan spell as he is nowhere to be seen for the fifth game in a row.

KYLE NAUGHTON (Norwich) 18.03.2012 vs Saudi Sportswashing Machine (A) 0-1 (L) Premier League (Round 29)
Played in the right-back position. There are tabloid rumours going around that Norwich are expected to sign him permanently but may have competition from Fulham.

Kyle Naughton made a vital block to prevent Cisse's 39th-minute volley from ending up in the back of the net.

Naughton - 5.5 - Nothing much to say here. Could he have done more to stop JG assisting the goal?

Naughton not having a great game today.

Naughton would be a great signing, he looks a quality player. If spurs do get a champions league spot and do give harry 50mil to spend then i cant see him staying really. plus he isn't going to push walker out of the side.

The People also suggest that Fulham will try to sign defender Kyle Naughton from Tottenham in the summer. He is currently on a season-long loan at Norwich, who are expected to capture him on a permanent basis.

Still out with his hamstring injury, could possibly be back next week.

STEVEN CAULKER (Swansea City) 17.03.2012 vs Fulham (A) 3-0 (W) Premier League (Round 29)
Another excellent win for Swansea and a third clean sheet in a row as Caulker was once again in Garth Crooks' team of the week. Caulker came out this week saying he's not ruling out another season long loan at the club but Swans chairman Huw Jenkins on the same day has said that Caulker is definitely going back to Spurs.

it was Steven Caulker who held the fort and he was largely responsible for the Swans keeping their third consecutive clean sheet. Against an in-form Pavel Pogrebnyak, the centre-back always looked in control. At times it was like he was shelling peas!

Of players to have made 10-plus appearances in the Premier League this season, only the Emirates Marketing Project trio of Pablo Zabaleta, Vincent Kompany and Joe Hart have a higher clean-sheet ratio than Caulker (44% - eight from 18 games).

Caulker (8)

Caulker: 8

As good as Caulker has been this year, if we cannot buy him i rather let him go and get a permanent CB in to get a partnership up and running with Williams.

Being out on loan has worked wonders for Caulker and IMO he will be in Spurs starting line up next season, possibly going on to a full England cap, if his head doesn't get turned and he goes off the rails.

(16 Mar 2012) Caulker said today that he's not ruling out another season long loan next season.

Meh, I've watched the interview, but I really think he'll be first team at Spurs next year. He has immense talent and will go on to the very top, and has a long international career ahead of him too.

(Chairman Huw Jenkins at fans forum on 16 Mar 2012) Caulker definitely going back to Spurs.

No chance, Jenkins confirmed last night spurs see him as one of 4 centre backs they intend to keep next season. He won't be coming back.

SEBASTIEN BASSONG (Wolves) 18.03.2012 vs Manchester United (H) 0-5 (L) Premier League (Round 29)
A match he will quickly want to forget as Wolves were thrashed.

I am not that convinced by Bassong actually. At least Stearman looks as though he cares and I thought he did ok really.

With Wayne Rooney and Javier Hern?índez occupying Richard Stearman and S?®bastien Bassong, it was difficult for either to take covering positions to help the beleaguered left-back.

Bizarrely, despite conceding 5 goals, I thought that Bassong had a half-decent game.

Whole defence was an utter shambles TBH. He was probably the best of a bad lot but given that one of them got sent off, one was skinned every single time, and the other played like a pub player its not saying much is it.

Bassong is off to a decent Premiership club.

With Bassong we potentially have two CB's who are prepared to pass the ball on the ground, which is what we need at the moment.

ANDROS TOWNSEND (Birmingham City) 17.03.2012 vs Middlesbrough (H) 3-0 (W) Championship (Round 36)
Played 79 minutes as Birmingham got back to winning ways.

Matthew Bates then produced a perfectly-executed sliding challenge to deny King, who had been sent clear by the galloping Andros Townsend.

Wade Elliott enters for Andros Townsend. Reason: Tactical

No real downsides - maybe Townsend taking his runs a bit far but that's a bit churlish.

THOMAS CARROLL (Derby County) 17.03.2012 vs Doncaster Rovers (A) 2-1 (W) Championship (Round 37)
Second game in a row on the bench and not brought on as Derby win again without him.

Wouldn't say that Carroll and Noble are poor players, wrong time wrong place.

RYAN MASON (Millwall) 17.03.2012 vs Southampton (H) 2-3 (L) Championship (Round 37)
Once more out of the match-day squad with no indication of whether he is dropped or injured.

YAGO FALQUE (Southampton) 17.03.2012 vs Millwall (A) 3-2 (W) Championship (Round 37)
Unfortunately his good peformance for the U-21s in midweek was not enough to get him back on the bench.

JOHN BOSTOCK (Sheffield Wednesday) 17.03.2012 vs Notts County (A) 2-1 (W) League One (Round 37)
Has now been a month since his was last in the squad. His poor performance against Chesterfield a few weeks ago has really put him out of the reckoning as Wednesday have gone on a very good run and are now only out of the automatic promotion places on goal difference alone.

84' Shot (Blocked)

DEAN PARRETT (Yeovil) 17.03.2012 vs Walsall (H) 2-1 (W) League One (Round 37)
Back in the squad and came off the bench for fellow Spurs loanee Jonathan Obika.

Tottenham Hotspur loanee Dean Parrett named on the bench at the expense of Reading's Lawson D'Ath.

Grof's athleticism denied Parrett a close range tap-in on 84 minutes before recovering to block follow ups from both Franks and the Spurs youngster.

Parrett was erratic (though I've previously been impressed with him).

HARRY KANE (Millwall) 17.03.2012 vs Southampton (H) 2-3 (L) Championship (Round 37)
Dropped to the bench in place of Darius Henderson but came on in the 77th minute and was booked in the 88th for protesting a penalty award to Southampton.

Kane should be playing.

The budding partnership between on-loan striker Harry Kane and the in-form Andy Keogh has been a huge positive in recent weeks for The Lions.

54' Subbed Off
10' Header (Saved)

JONATHAN OBIKA (Yeovil) 17.03.2012 vs Walsall (H) 2-1 (W) League One (Round 37)
Had a poor game before being subbed off for fellow Spurs loanee Dean Parrett.

On 11 minutes Jon Obika charged down Lancashire's poor clearance and broke into the box. He finally squared for Jonathan Franks who brought a fine save from David Grof.

Obika was too easily brushed off the ball by Mantom and his scuffed shot was enough to beat Walker's despairing dive.

But for me Obika was the poorest player, he seems to offer little and was responsible for their goal. He could be good but seems lazy and expects the ball to come to him, makes no space and helps AW very little up front, shame, maybe GJ could get more out of him, but does he have it?

I think Obika holds the ball up well, but for he seems to be back on heels quite a bit and doesn't seem to read the game quickly enough and misses opportunities, works hard enough most of the time, although I agree he was at fault for the build up to their goal.

We won the ball back less easily without the busy and disruptive Blizzard and held onto it less without Obika.

Yeovil Town makes a sub: Dean Parrett enters for Jonathan Obika. Reason: Tactical

KUDUS OYENUGA (St Johnstone) 17.03.2012 vs St Mirren (A) 3-0 (W) Scottish Premier League (Round 29)
No match last week due to a round of Scottish Cup games. Nothing has changed with Kudus still on the bench and two other players getting on the field in front of him once the third goal went in with 5 minutes to go. Has had less playing time than even Yago Falque has for Southampton and is another loan spell for the young striker which has been unsuccessful. Some chatter on a St Johnstone forum that the loan seems to have happened just to fill up the bench spots as a lot of St Johnstone youth players are out on loan getting game time.

Am i the only one who is missing the fact that he brings in players from other teams to sit on the bench and only get 5 or 10 mins here or there while our good U19's are out playing a full 90 minutes for other clubs - which in the long term will benefit them.

Exactly, Lomas has done what McInnes failed to do by loaning out the rated youngsters to gain match experience. These guys are here to be benched, Oyenuga has came from a huge club. I'd rather our youngsters were out getting game time.

SIMON DAWKINS (San Jose Earthquakes) 17.03.2012 vs Houston Dynamo (H) 0-1 (L) Major League Soccer (Round 2)
On the bench again but did not come off it this time.

Next weeks starting lineup should be the same 11 that finished the game except replace Shea with Dawkins.

Don't understand how Dawkins does not get on the field. Don't understand it.

And Simon Dawkins coming off the bench may be better than anyone we have coming off the bench.

Honestly, would be completely shocked if Caulker doesn't break into the Spurs first team next season. He's getting into teams of the week, he's winning MOTM awards, his club are getting clean sheets with him in the team. It all bodes well.

Bostock has been recalled from Sheffield Wednesday. Can't believe Palace thought ?ú700k was us robbing them!

I think we're handling him badly. Fair enough, he hasn't reacted well to be being loaned and that is a problem with him mentally. But continuing to force loan moves to the north on him isn't going to work... Learn from your mistakes anyone?

From a commercial point of view, if we want to make some money back on him (not talking about making him a Spurs player, but just good enough to sell), then we should be having a much more hands on approach with him. I personally don't think he should be allowed out of our site, or loaned locally.

No surprise really.

John Bostock has been recalled from his loan spell at Hillsborough under the terms of the temporary deal with Tottenham.

The midfielder joined Wednesday on loan in January but has now returned to White Hart Lane.

Bostock made four appearances for the Owls.

Sheffield Wednesday would like to thank John for his services and wish him well for the future.

Still a few days left in the loan window. Maybe a league 2 club need a bench warmer ;)

wow 4 appearances in 3 months and that was enough from weds. sorry lads, bostock isnt gonna make it at spurs

Imho his head is not right for top level football at the moment, has soon has he join us he thought he made it to the big time, and now he can't handle it. he will need to join a smaller team in a lower division and start again, he is young enough to come back a be a top player.

BUTTON IN BARNSLEY LOAN

Posted 19 March 2012 5:52pm

David Button has joined Championship side Barnsley on loan for one month.

The young goalkeeper recently returned from a successful loan spell with Doncaster Rovers where he spent two months, making eight appearances and keeping three clean sheets.

BUTTON ARRIVES ON LOAN
Posted on: Mon 19 Mar 2012

Barnsley Football Club are set to land Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper David Button on an emergency loan deal until April 15th, 2012, subject to confirmation from the relevant footballing bodies.

With a fractured wrist ruling out 'keeper David Preece until the end of the season, the 23-year-old will team up with the Reds in the capital ahead of our clash with Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

A product of Spurs' youth system, Button has represented England at various youth levels.

He has spent the majority of his early career out on loan developing his game and has in fact featured against the Reds earlier this season for Doncaster Rovers.

Seems he's been brought in to be backup to 1st choice Luke Steele... or even push him for a first team spot. He's got 6 games in the month to do so anyway.

Well Button starts, as Luke Steele is out injured.

Townsend, Kane and Parrett all start.

Carroll on the bench

No sign of Falque or Mason.

Obika not in the squad away to Charlton as Yeovil already have the maximum 5 loanees in the 16.

Jansson saved a couple of penalties again last night for Shamrock in a penalty shoot-out. Seems he's fond of saving penalties!

Getting pretty desperate with respect to Bostock. DOesnt seem to do well wherever he goes. And if he cant succeed when he;s out on loan at a chmpionship or div 1 club then there isnt much hope for him. I don think its a coincidence that neither him nor Parrett, our two biggest money young/unproven signings, have been complete flops so far. Neither has looked like succeeding and its hard not to get the impression that they thought that they had made it just because they were bought by Spurs

Someone needs to point out to Bostock that if he cant make it at the clubs he's going out on loan to then he can forget the high-paid celebrity lifestyle that comes with being a footballer......he needs to realise that he's 6-12 months from being unemployed or working as a painter/decorator

im not sure this is the reason for his return. What if Jones and his new coaching staff dont like one of Megson's loanees, and have no intention of using him? What if he had a fight with Jones? His decision to move on loan has been altered.

All im saying is hes still very young and a bad loan is more likely to teach him things about football than if he just spends the whole time kissing arse.

I think the problem here is that because both were bought for largish fees and a lot of commotion you are putting them both under the same umbrella, this could not be further from the truth. Saying Parrett is a 'complete flop' is unfair and I am not sure what you are basing it on.

His first loan at Aldershot was for one month, Aldershot asked for an extension but didn't get it.

His loan at Plymouth was a poor one yes and was compounded by missing a sitter against Rochdale and a horrible challenge in an FA Cup game against Swindon after which he was recalled, however it's widely regarded he was played out of position whenever he did play for them.

Regardless of this he got another loan in the same division the same season with Charlton and played most of the remaining games, putting in good performances. Most Charlton fans wanted him signed permanently and he was in their first xi teams for next season but it was clear (incredibly from a tweet from his mum) that he was looking for a loan to a championship/premier league side. On the back of his performances he even got selected for the England U20 squad for the World Cup!

During the World Cup (in August) he got injured putting pay to any hopes of a season-long loan. When he got his loan it was to lowly Yeovil yes but the Yeovil fans are pretty happy with him, unlike let's say Obika who is dividing opinion.

I think you need to cut Parrett some slack, one poor half-season loan does not mean he's in the same category as Bostock. You are essentially saying Carroll is a complete failure as well based on his performances for Derby this season.

Bostock is a different kettle of fish - Wednesday fans are happy to see the back of him, here's some of the reaction's when they heard he was recalled:

Good, he is pony.

been useless for us

Not soon enough!

Genuinely forgot we had him!

One of the worst loans i can remember.

thank goodness, just wish it was sooner!

A waste of everyones time and money all round - think its time for this bloke to start applying for other jobs

Disappointing. Thought he was going to be a big improvement to the squad when we got him, but his stay's just been a waste of his and our time. Obviously has ability, but there has to be a serious doubt about his application - especially now that he's had 3 loan spells that overall have to be viewed as failures.
