The Academy, NextGen, U18 & U21 Premier League and On-Loan Thread

Ceballos millimetres away from finding the top corner after having a dig from 30 yards. Nearly Bale-esque.

A well deserved goal for us, we've played really well for 10 or 15 minutes

Obika is a pure finisher, not a brilliant footballer, but a good poacher

Dive from Ceballos there - he went down, then went down with a pike and twist a second later

Hall and Bentaled really walking a tightrope now, Hall has been beaten a few times and had to haul a man down or make a last ditch lunge

Awesome strike from Pritchard

What a shot from the wee willy winker, like an arrow

Spurs are good!

I guess there is only one thing that can happen from here - a massive capitulation, a dodgy ref decision and eventual defeat on penalties

I'm off to betfair now

Well deserved 2-0 lead. Should have been more really. Unfortunate to hit the woodwork twice. We are playing by far the better football, passing the ball around nicely in United's half. Unfortunately, our center backs are rubbish so I can see us conceding as well. Hall shoudl probably be taken off at half time as he is one foul away from being sent off.

Ceballos is looking good. As is Kane at this level though.

And who is the dinosaur doing the commentating for MUTV? He is ridiculous.

Our U21s play better football then our first team

This.

2-0 at the half (hit the bar twice as well)

It's been truly awesome to watch. Such good pressure high up the pitch, and they all press forward as one. Can't remember the name of our development coach but he's surely done good work. We keep the ball really well, its a breath of fresh air. Hit the bar twice as well

Obika and Kane aren't really relied upon a ton to retain possession (really good work from Carroll, Ceballos, Pritchard, Bentaleb, and our 2 CBs so far) but do their part in providing a physical presence up front.

And I really like Ceballos' game. Seems very direct and not afraid to take on a man. His no. 1 priority is to get the ball in the box and he makes it happen. Simples.

Realistically though how many of these players will make the step up for us?

Carroll is doing his best but doesn't ever seem to be relied upon to start. One time he did was Lazio and he looked good. I mean Luongo isn't even in the squad and I think he's more promising than any of the midfielders on the pitch.
