The Academy, NextGen, U18 & U21 Premier League and On-Loan Thread

I thought Luongo was supposed to be the real deal?

Certainly a very promising player. And I very much doubt that Spurs are considering selling him at this point. This is just a case of the local Swindon paper allowing hope to get the better of them.

Hopefully we find a deal to sell mason

Think he just needs some football. I remember watching him a few times when he went to Yoevil and he looked decent, however since then he's had injury after injury and he just needs to get some game time. Its why I thought it was odd that we loaned him to a random French team where, as well as proving himself ability-wise, he also had to settle in a different culture

There's 'kids' at Spurs which I thnk we should sell before Mason

Our U18s secured a vital 6-3 win against Sunderland this morning in the Barclays U18 Premier League
Victor Zapata-Caicedo (2), Roman Michael-Percil, Dominic Ball, Ruben Lameiras and Darren McQueen were on target
The lads scored in two three-goal bursts in 10 minutes - 24m-34m then 63m-73m - as the scoring went 1-0, 1-1, 3-1, 3-2, 6-2 and 6-3
The result means our U18s can still finish top of Group One and therefore qualify for the end of season play-offs
The lads have a short rest, just 24 hours before they return to action tomorrow with their final group game at West Brom
We're now on 21 points. Sunderland are on 20 with Liverpool still to play. Liverpool can also get to 24 points

Tottenham Hotspur's U21s have won the Premier League Elite Group tonight after Manchester United were defeated by Wolves 1-0.

It's a great achievement for our lads, as most of the starters during the first half of the season are now out on loan at various Football League clubs.

Spurs will face the winners of Tiers 1 & 2 in the Semi-Final play-off.

Under-21 Barclays Premier League Season 2012-13

Oh great Harry Kane our savior is coming on

****ing Kane coming on. I want to cry.

Here comes Kane to save the d....oh he's going out on the wing. Terrific.

Can only presume Kane is coming on to make that lump of Wood look better.

Here comes the white pele

White Pele scored. Im must be dreaming

The Leicester fans are in complete meltdown at the moment. Some serious delusions around there regarding their club. And they think someone like Steve Bruce or Martin O'Neill would have got them promoted. :~

Our Under-21s clinched top spot in the Elite Group of the Barclays U21 Premier League without playing on Friday night.

Rivals Manchester United and Liverpool both lost on Friday night.

United were beaten 1-0 at Wolves and with two matches remaining, can now get to 27 points.

Liverpool lost 2-1 at West Ham and can now reach 26 points.

Our derby victory against Arsenal at Barnet on Monday night took us to 29 points.

It means we will take on the winners of the play-off between the winners of Group One and Group Two in the semi-finals of next month's play-offs.

The top three from the Elite Group qualify with the second and third-placed teams meeting in the other play-off semi-final. United, Liverpool, West Ham and Southampton will fight it out for second and third.

Our Under-21s have performed magnificently this season.

After losing the first two matches of Phase One of the all-new competition back in August, they won seven, drew one and lost one of the next 10 to win National Group Two.

That meant they took their place in the Elite Group and take that title after winning nine and losing just two of their 13 matches so far.

Incredibly, they've scored 77 goals in 25 matches and have maintained top spot in the Elite Group despite losing a number of players out on loan - John Bostock, Nathan Byrne, Souleymane Coulibaly, Yago Falque, Harry Kane, Massimo Luongo, Ryan Mason, Jon Obika, Adam Smith and Andros Townsend have all featured and are currently furthering their football experience elsewhere.

The lads will finish their Elite Group campaign at Southampton on Monday, kick-off 2.30pm.

Are we becoming a victim of our own success, youth policy wise? Half our youth out on loan, an entire crop of decent prospects coming through.

Comes under the heading 'good problems to have'

Although it's always very nice to win youth trophies, the overriding priority is to develop our youngsters into potential first team players.

It looks like Spurs are able to to both at the moment.

Pritchard getting some praise from the commentators. Showed some lovely skill just now to release a player on goal. He managed to land the resulting corner kick on top of the goal.

Pritchard having a very good game for Peterborough.
They've just gone 1-0 up in the 63rd minute after a direct free kick that was won by Prith.
He takes their corners, and does so very well. Play on the left of a midfield 4 in a 4411 formation.
He's not their focus of their play, but whenever the Posh do anything it's Pritchard that's behind it.
Quick feet, even quicker thinking. Work hard for the team defensively as well.

i think its more a case of sending him to a decent team in a decent league and seeing what he can do. hes 20/21 now not some 17 kid and once again he has failed and has to be recalled. yeovil, doncaster, millwall and now lorient. sorry but if he cant get 5 mins in those teams he's gonna do nothing here.

cover it up all you want by saying bad loans, injuries etc but he just isnt good enough
