the fee is likely to be undisclosed, and rightly so, but Real will leak to the Spanish press that its 24 mill plus add ons, and Spurs will release a figure to the press of around 34 mill plus add ons. The truth will be somewhere in the middle, but both clubs will want to look like the winner in this deal.

What a tedious window-- why can't some members of Levy's inner sanctum decide to become ITK heroes on this board and leak some juicy names? Spooky - you're close to our Chairman's inner sanctum aren't you?

Levy who is holding out for £40m is now going to accept a base offer of £23.5m.

As Benny would say - LOL.

How do we know he's holding out for £40m? Every bid Chelsea made was mentioned only by the press so their figures could well of been made up ie instead of rejecting a bid from Chelsea of around £35m it could well of been a bid of £25-30m that was rejected. Sure Levy has a figure in mind, but does anyone other than those close to Levy really know what that figure is?

I thought it was Harry that said about Chelsea's bid? Personally I'm certain there is no way Modric leaves for anything below £35m straight cash.

Am expecting that the deal which is done to have a massive headline figure however that that figure will include the best part of £10m add-ons, some of which are less likely to be achieved. For example something like:
- £30m base fee
- extra £1m if RM will the league next year and LM starts over half their games
- extra £1m if RM will the league the year after and LM starts over half their games
- extra £2m if RM will the Champions League next year and LM starts over half their games
- extra £2m if RM will the Champions League the year after and LM starts over half their games
- extra £2m if he starts more than 100 games for them in his career
- extra £1m if he starts more than 200 games for them in his career
- extra £1m if he's names world player of the year in his first 2 years at RM

Until Joe Lewis stops sucking money out of our club. We will not move forward with that vampire at the helm.

Hmmn, Histrionic personality disorder (HPD) is defined by the American Psychiatric Association ... A pervasive pattern of excessive emotionality and attention-seeking. Either that or a certain poster is a 17 year old West ham fan on a wind-up.

Aren't these fees detailed in the yearly accounts though?

We're a private company; we're not listed any more so our results wont be announced.

That said, if we have a very simple corporate structure and file UK accounts (ie the holding company hasnt been moved off shore), then you might be able to get visibility on our financials when our accounts are filed at Companies House. As we have a June year end (or used to) then that would probably be early next year

Harry probably did! Im not denying that Chelsea made bids that were rejected, just querying what the amounts rejected were - I wouldnt say Levy is holding out for £40m just because the papers have decided this, having already speculated bids of up to around £35m were made.

I suspect you're right, between £30-£35m will be the price which would be good business for all involved....

The accounts only have to give totals for different expenditures, changes in assets, etc. The transfer fees are further obscured as payments can be made over up to four years. When we were listed any transactions over a certain amount (about £10 for us recently) had to be reported to the stock exchange, so we did have firm knowledge on some deals (e.g. Modric €21m over four years, Keane £19m with add-ons to £20.3m, Bent £10 plus add-ons to £16.5m in and up to £16.5m out, Bentley £15m plus add-ons to £17m). Sometimes the Chairman's statement gives further information but that is optional.

Now the company is private the requirements are less. They will have to sublit accounts to UEFA for Financial Fair Play evaluation, but I don't know if will be public. My suspicion on how UEFA will police their rules suggests no.

Stimac: Modric will join Real

August 14, 2012

By ESPN staff

Croatia coach Igor Stimac has said he believes Tottenham midfielder Luka Modric will join Real Madrid sooner rather than later.

Stimac said he expected the unsettled Spurs star - whose future has been the subject of a summer-long saga - to complete his switch to Spain despite Real's current failure to meet Tottenham's £40 million asking price.

Playmaker Modric has been training alone after missing Tottenham's pre-season tour of America as speculation over his future rumbled on. Manager Andre Villas-Boas has warned him that he must be ready to play for Tottenham again despite his absence from their friendlies.

Stimac, who plans to start the 26-year-old for Croatia against Switzerland in Split on Wednesday, told AS: "I don't like the situation that he is in at all - he has not played any matches at all this summer," adding: "He will end up signing for Madrid before the market shuts."

Tottenham have already augmented their midfield options with the signing of Gylfi Sigurdsson from Hoffenheim, and are also thought to have made a bid to bring Rennes midfielder Yann M'Vila to White Hart Lane.

Gaston Ramirez's agent has claimed Spurs offered £12.5 million for the Bologna forward, but that deal is reported to have stalled over the North London club's wage offer.

Speaking last week, Villas-Boas reiterated the Tottenham stance that Modric would go nowhere unless their valuation of him was met.

He said: "We respect the player's ambition, but he must also respect the club. Until we receive a suitable offer for the player, he will not go.

"I do not know if it will happen, but my job is to get his head right to play for us. It is important that, in the coming days, he realises he must prepare to play for our team.

"The contacts we have had with other clubs have not met with what Tottenham wants for the player. We respect the size of Madrid and the other interested clubs, but they must respect what we are doing, too."

You really are a class A WUM aren't you? You have absolutely no evidence that Joe Lewis is 'sucking money out of our club'

so about 24m quid up front + another 4m IF he plays well, a total package of 28m quid, we may as well have accepted the 40m quid from Chelsea on the last day of the window then !

Seriously though, I'd be stunned if these figures were correct.

I was surprised the other day at the current exchange rate, 1.26 euros to the £.......makes these deals nowhere near as attractive for us, but on the flip side makes players on the continent cheaper.

This is a big issue with the Modric deal I reckon.

Come on then, which of you is this?

I'm sure readers on here are grateful for the bits of info that gets posted on here, when it doesn't come from flimflam munchers. But any right minded person will take it as gossip or a rumour and know most of it is made up.

I cant believe you've got people on here hanging on your every word. Do you really expect people to believe there's someone sat in Levy's office listening in risking their job, then passing on everything he hears to you and the other muppets like aquayid, adiepf and JJ jetset.

People on here like you and Rebrab (Biro gonad*s) pretending you have contacts and you have some amazing itk then loving the attention you get are just sad and probably don't have friends or girlfriends in the real world.

Telling everyone your just waiting on the go ahead to post what you know, then basking in the adulation is just sad..... maybe your really waiting for something to be posted on FTL or another site before you post it as coming from your contact...... ??

The only genuine people who have bits ok itk like Ben or Peanut rarely post..... wonder why?

signed ..... someone itk about the itk trumptttttttters

:)
