Spot on. And even if it doesn't work that doesn't mean a back 3 would have worked better. They're a fantastic team.I thought it would be too. But at the same time I think many are overselling the success of that formation off of a single performance against a PSG team that were quite obviously half baked.
There were doubtlessly very specific tactical reasons why Frank wanted 3 at the back against them and the players executed it well, but that doesn't then compute to playing that same formation against every good side....
A lot of hard work in that midfield 3, like against PSG. Kudus and Richarlison key, as against PSG.
Looking forward to this, hopefully it will be good.
