It's strategy, wait until later in the window when clubs are getting desperate and we will offload some for more than we would have at the beginning of the summer. I don't know why people are worried, we are signing players and the players that are not in the plans will be training away from the first team.

All 20 of them? Are we going to bring Clive Allen back and enter a full squad in the stiffs' league?

I think there is just a lack of interest in many of our clodgers and I'm not surprised honestly. They are relatively well paid and we want decent fees for them and they've had years of poor performances. Noone is looking at the likes of Dier or Sanchez and thinking they really want that player.

The way to look at it is, if we were looking from outside would we want to sign any of our deadwood and the resounding answer has to be no. Sometimes a player has some redeeming features or you can think it just hasn't worked out for whatever reason but our lot don't really have that going for them.

No one with the money to cover their wages, that is. Dier has bags of experience, Reguilon can do a job as an attacking full back (Aurier found a club, after all), Rodon used to be fairly highly rated and he hardly played a game for us (don't know how his loan went), Tanganga EDIT: ALMOST played for AC Milan (WHICH IS STILL ONE STEP CLOSER MOST OF HIS FUTURE TEAM MATES WILL EVER BE), which could be seen as an accomplishment by an average Championship side... problem is, they're all on high wages and since nobody at the club made it clear that would never, ever play for Spurs again, they feel they're better off waiting for a chance to get back in the first team rather than taking a wage cut in a lower mid-table team.

For me, the most important thing to succeed as a professional football player is the unshakable belief that you're the best. Some players I've met were completely delusional about themselves but no matter what, they always thought they'd make it to the top at the end of the day. All setbacks were because of the manager, the fans, team mates, whatever. When you think that way, you always think there's a way back for you. That's why it's usually better to talk directly to their agents.

When did that happen?

Did I miss Tanganga playing for AC Milan? I know they were supposedly looking to loan him at one point, but that never came to fruition did it? Or is my memory totally shot?

I think it's called Post Saturday Night Binge Disorder... Well, he ALMOST played for AC Milan, that's got to count for something, doesn't it??

So todays signing of Phillips with VDV and Veliz to follow takes us to 39 players!

We badly need to get some players out.

Only Winks has been shifted permanently and we dont have a single youngster out on loan.

The youngsters usually go on tour with the first team then get loaned after.

Would have liked to have sold some senior players but it seemed ange wanted to assess the squad. Lo celso looks like he'll be staying now.

Well likely based on Anges comments the culls coming. There are names on that list you can automatically take off

Only one of the six I’ve mentioned a couple of times was in the squad today - Sanchez, and that’ll change with VDV.

The others: Rodon, Ndombele, Spence, Devine, White all out.

Spence came back from England with a knock - he's been behind with training

The same excuse was given for Ndombele. They both looked completely fine in training in Bangkok and Singapore. There were others with knocks who were fully integrated into the team training. Those six were clearly isolated and very much felt as if they weren't part of Ange's plans. Seems like Dan Kilpatrick has heard similar.

Hugo, Sanchez, Reguilon, Tanganga, Ndombele, Spence, Rodon are the likely outs regardless

PEH & Perisic if the right offer comes in

Sess & Gil stay due to no one is going to buy an injured player

Loans for the kids

Would be a shame if true. I think he's a much better option there than Porro.

A shame Liveramento is being snapped up too as a potential replacement
