Roberto Soldado

I take it that is said tongue in cheek. If Kane doesn't score again for 2 seasons he will still have a greater goals per game tally than Soldado and won't have cost us £20+

my point is Kane was not defined and written off last summer by his previous two seasons goal record, all strikers tend to peak and trough

not saying Soldado isn't swimming in an Olympic sized one at the minute but the likelihood is he'll peak again back in Spain, there are multiple clubs willing to give him that opportunity according to the ITK's

looking at the PL all time scorers table, Shearer, Cole, Henry and Ferdinand all went through prolonged droughts and came out the other side, he's obviously isn't gonna get on that list but it's food for thought, very few players are awesome all the time, especially at the level we shop at

because we have Lloris already at the club about to come back from his injury, whereas we dont have Benzema back at the training ground making a recovery and ready to step in for Kane if needs be ;)

wrists are tricky, who knows how long he's out for?

red card for Vorm in the first game (it's at OT remember) and we are double fudged as Kane will be back in nets for the next two

;)

Off topic but I agree and would very much hope the club will get a half decent third choice keeper asap

Hahaha this just keeps getting better

When we talk of droughts in relation to the players you mentioned, you talk of between 5 and 15 games, soldadud has been brick for two years

great deal if true, that'll show as profit on the books right?

no panic about starting the season with just Kane from me, not sure why we are not having equal panic over keepers as right now Vorm is our only fit senior one and that's a far more specialist position

Well if you believe twitter, Werner is about to sign in the next 48 hours anyway.

Yes and there are plenty of players that never come out of their droughts i.e. Torres.

I like Soldado's attitude, but he simply has to go. I can't see him turning his spurs career around, and I actually don't know what system/formation would work for him. It's not his physical attributes. Aguero is similar in size (I think) and makes a much better effort than Soldado. He doesn't put in enough of a shift for me that all slightly smaller players need to do to make up for lack of size.

Wasn't Berahino meant to be signing for us in the next 48 hours too..only, that was about a week ago.

Yes he was, but that was according to the Express and some ITKs. The same express by the way that predicted that the winter of 2013 would have 100 days of snow........

It's guaranteed that he will bang in 20+ goals a season again in Spain.
He probably will you know but it will never happen for him at Spurs. He has to move. I think most of his issues are in his own head and move back to more familiar surroundings might just remind him that he is a good player. And he is you know, just not suited to this league. I'm disappointed that it didn't work out for him but his failure is not an isolated case. Some of the best strikers in the world come to the PL and struggle for one reason or another.

The silver lining might be that if he departs that we will finally move for another forward in the transfer market. I'm hoping that it will be a case of one out and one in.

If we do get rid of Soldado and Ade as well could it be a case of two out two in!? Or is that just being overly wishful?

I think in that case it'll be a CF and a CF/WF brought in (ie Austin and Berahino - not saying those two in particular just those types)
