Roberto De Zerbi *OFFICIAL*

Listening to RDZ's interview just wonder how much activity there will be in the summer window . "Sure not to change too many players " & "We need to complete the squad in the best way" were two quotes he made.
If all the sound waves are to be believed we have two coming in , Senesi and Roberstson at no transfer cost, RDZ also said he "100%" wanted Palhinha so that might be a permanent transfer.
With Maddison back and next season Kudus from the start & possibly Odobert from the start also Simons if a making quick recovery could be back by November just wonder what RDZ's plans are?
Not forgetting Deki , will he ever come back ?

Simons likely to miss next season isn't he? Maybe I read wrong.

We need some goal threats, badly

I was trying to be optimistic, NHS reckons recovery for acl is 6 month to a year, Simons is fit and healthy so hopefully he will make a quick recovery, maybe not November but some time in early 2027at least.
Yes a sensational striker would be good addition.

A functioning striker is essential I think. Concerns me when i check online the only links i see for strikers are youth strikers like Promise David and Tolu Arokodare who are both from the Belgium league i think. Not that I can necessary think of a better one other then Osimhen.

Think the problem these days is the build up to the transfer window , all the hype and how much is going to be spent , the more you spend the better you are, tell that to Pool fans , they spent a fortune last summer and went backwards.
Reading and listening to all talk coming from Vinai and the Lewis family I think they will back RDZ with whatever he wants but it may not be the star names that fans want, RDZ sounds very pragmatic to me and knows exactly what he wants for the squad.

100% we need the right players, not the most expensive, always been the case IMO.

i'd have ivan toney or osimhen - yep we need one or two top, top strikers

we need goals from everywhere, good to see Xavi, Gallgher and especially Palhinha contributing - and our fave PM Sarr

say 9 months to get back so end 2026, so perhaps missing 1/3 of the season.
Maybe nine months to be back playing but it'll take longer for him to get up to full match-speed and fitness where he can play 90 minutes. Plus, I expect anyone coming back from such a long layoff will have a lot of niggly muscle injuries...look at Rodri for instance.

I wouldn't expect much contribution from Xavi for the whole of next season, nor Odobert till Xmas.

My concern is that some players don't return to peak form after long term injury like these. I suspect Madds because of age and Kulu because of the way he plays.

So I agree that replacements are needed for some not all, but it's a tricky situation with their lack of playing time and valuations

Spurs fans need to not buy the media narrative around RDZ

He's shown he can restrain himself and set the tune that makes sense. It's amazing having seen Conte/Jose/other narcissist pricks at work, zero chance one of them would have taken the job and 3 or 4 games out wouldn't have made some comment about "I didn't put us here, so don't blame me if it goes wrong", he came in and said we could win all the games.

Spurs is the biggest job he has had, it's the most resources he has had, and we won't have to sell any player he wants to keep (an issue in previous clubs), and he will have money to spend every window.

He is in a position of power now, they absolutely would have had to give assurances on summer spend to get him in, he's just saved them several hundred million plus the potential brand damage, Lange if he stays will have far less authority, and our owners must know (yes, I'm aware of who they are) this summer of all summers, they need to put their hands in their pockets (17th twice in a row is not a fluke).

RDZ will have a lot of say on who we buy/sell.

Yeah, I think he will have a big say as he should. However, I think he will also make Lange's job much easier especially if he sticks around for a while. Lange's been bounced around different styles of managers and that will naturally impact how he operates as the guy that sources players for them. I'm all for keeping things stable although there is a strong case to bring someone in to be the external face of a DoF/Football Ops role. A big personality that can build networks, form strong relationships with other clubs and agents and really help out on closing deals.
