Racism in football

You sound like such a fudging macaron
Yes, and you sound like a Green party voter. Read my original thread, I made it clear I am not a racist, and I find racialism abhorrent. My point is that racism/racialism travels in both directions, and there are far worse things to worry about in life. Presuming you are white, if you were to go and live in Nigeria and somebody made a negative remark about your colour, would you be deeply upset or hurt, I doubt it! It's just one of those thing that the woke and over sensitive have taken too far, and we need to get back to reality!

I live in Japan and guess what! I do find things racist or at least discriminatory in my everyday life. When a foreigner tries to rent a place, many real estate agents will call up the owner of the apartment/building first to check they're ok with a foreigner living there. And often they're not. I've had that done to me. I've been denied even inspecting an apartment because I'm not Japanese. That is deeply upsetting.

I also hate it when people I watch football with refer to foreigners using the word 外人. Literally "outside person". There is a more commonly accepted 外国人 ("outside country person"). There is often a different context when the words are used. For example, "lazy 外人" vs "we signed another 外国人". It makes me feel uncomfortable to hear my friends talk like that, and they're often completely oblivious to how it makes me feel.

And none of that even comes close to watch people of colour have experienced over many, many years. Systemic racism, violence, murder, babies being stolen from families and all sorts of other horrors. Those things have led us to where we are today. So fudge off with your lectures and your flimflam on "terrorist organisations."

i guess if you tell yourself enough times you are not a racist eventually you will believe it. unfortunately for you most on here know a racist when they see one & you are a racist clam. do us all a favour & take your racist views somewhere else

How many posters have we currently got desperately trying to roleplay the victim of racism? What do these people want? Never-mind the millenia of openly systematic oppression and unimaginable brutality based on race, Colin from accounts was subjected to someone using the term gammon in a team meeting and simply can't handle it, ironically so after years of attempting to play down discrimination and stigmatise anyone actually calling it out. Now it's gone too far!

Caucasian faux outrage must be taken seriously otherwise the world is a very very cruel and unfair place. I think it should be taken so seriously that the 4 or 5 posters hellbent on raising awareness should get their very own thread in the viceden where they can support each other, without infecting other threads with their tedious, whiny whataboutisms.

Yes, in many years passed. Let me remind you, the Barbary pirates were taking white me as slaves well before the white man embarked on it. The Romans and the Vikings were also making the British slaves. The point is that the only slavery that ever happens now has nothing to do with us. Travel to India and they have two prices for public transport, the lesser for the locals, and over twice as much for foreigners. What's more, they even print foreigner on the ticket. Just imagine if we did did that over here. As a matter of interest a survey was done and the happiest nations in the world have mono cultures, what does that tell you?

I agree, too many people these days are looking for ways to be offended

Well done on ignoring the rest of my post.

Hahaha, you can travel in India for the same price and spend time with the locals, so that's a lie. Tickets with Foreigners are for people who want to have special privilege tickets a a boost to tourism, not for the reasons you are alluding too

As for the last sentence, nearly all those countries cite having a better work life balance as the reason for their happiness, nothing to do with being a mono culture

Umm, what do you think about immigration?
Soliloquising now? I suppose I shouldn't be surprised, there'll be no-one left who hasn't put you on ignore at the rate you're going.

I grew up in Tottenham, so other cultures, languages and ways of doing things don't frighten me the way they obviously do you. My family's Irish as well, so I'm a second-generation immigrant myself, and I'm proud of the fact that London is one of the most multicultural cities in the world.

What do I think about immigration? I think that, apart from enriching the life of this otherwise rather grey little country, it's absolutely essential to the economy and public finances. Britain will very soon have a shrinking population (if it hasn't already) with about one in five over the age of sixty-five (projected to increase to one in four over the next 50 years or so). Deaths will likely outstrip births by the end of this parliament. Who the fuсk is going to pay for everyone's pensions and health care if the supply of working-age people is choked off even further? Without it, the place will disappear up its own arѕe. Just like you should.

May I ask...how old is 'very old' ?

This may displease the lefties and woke, but here is my call on things. I don't like racism, but I hate oversensitivity and people calling the race card more than racism it's self. People get racism confused with racialism, and the two are quite different. Racism is an opinion, racialism is an action. For example, choosing not to like a race of people because of their colour is racism, but I uphold everyone has the right to dislike who ever they want. To shout abuse at someone or use physical violence against them because of their colour is racialism and it's is wrong and unforgiveable.

There isn't a country in the world where racism or racialism doesn't exist, and there never will be. In actual fact the more the woke kick up a fuss about it the more likely it becomes people will react against them. The very fact that in this country only white people can be considered racist makes things even worse. I remember in the late 70s being refused entry to a club in Brixton because I was white, and this was despite the fact I was with three black guys. In the six months I worked in Brixton I witnessed far more racism/racialism from the west Indian community than I have ever witnessed from the indigenous people of this country.

With regards to racism in British football, it barely exists. OK some plonker on X derided Tel and left some monkey emojis. I openly admit that shouldn't happen, but let's be honest guys, is that really any worse than taking the micky out of a player because he has a big nose? We have been brainwashed in recent years by the woke and the sensitive that the worst possible crime on earth isn't rape, it's not child molesting, it isn't even murder, it's racism, well I have news for you, it isn't. If I were to play football in Nigeria and the crowd started to throw Yorkshire putting at me, would I be offended, would I heck. Remember what your mother's told you, sticks and stones.............
Interesting how different things offend different people... You wouldn't be offended by a Yorkshire pudding, yet you're offended to the point of hatred about people being "oversensitive" and "woke lefties".

You seem to be implying that minorities are too sensitive, playing the race card, unable to correctly learn the lesson of sticks and stones...

To me that "sensitivity" is a result of the racism. It's a perfectly natural human reaction, often even a healthy one.

Your nose example... There is a particular hand gesture/movement used by Neo nazi types based on stereotypes of the noses of Jewish people. Would it be surprising in any way if people are more "sensitive" to that gesture than to a football chant about someone having a big nose? Should Jewish people just be less sensitive? Or others not be sensitive about that on their behalf? fudge no. And we can understand that sensitivity based on, you know, things that have happened.

100% bollox.

Not the idea of you not being allowed into a club, I can completely believe that.

But a racist clam like you living in Brixton and being friends with 3 black guys in the 70s. 😂.

Jog on, Alf.

Ah yes, famously the barbary pirates did slavery "well before white men embarked on it"... But also the Romans did slavery 1500 years before that. Guess all Romans were non white then?

You seem deeply steeped in reactionary beliefs. Where do you get your information on this stuff from? What are your trusted or go to sources?
