Politics, politics, politics

I think the actual result for the Tories will be worse than the exit poll, based on the first few seats and the yougov nowcast estimates.

Sunderland suggests otherwise. Labour hold but a much larger Conservative swing than the exit polls measured.

I can see why left wing parties want the voting age lowered, if the facebook generation get out and vote things look good for them.

At least the Facebook generation have cottoned on that just voting on Facebook or any other social media platform does not actually count as real voting.

That for me is progress

Again, yougov nowcast better prediction than exit poll for Washington and Sunderland West...same model gives Tories 302 seats, Labour 269.

Infact, Labour have been outperforming the estimated vote projections in the yougov model.

Early days though, a long night ahead...

Got to say I am surprised, that the UKIP vote has split evenly or more in Labour favour, I think we are on for something special tonight. It is quite hard to tell, but the UKIP were made up of old Labour and they seem to be going back to Old Labour. May has been awful, and the dementia tax has been the biggest mistake in an election that I can remember.

Long way to go, think there will be more shocks yet for both sides. May was always awful, she just had some proper exposure for once.

I did not vote for any of the main parties so it is a bit like the cup final for me in that I am not fussed who wins. I am more right wing, I would build prisons and would like lower taxes. But I kind of want to see what a truly socialist prime minister will do.

Big thing for me was stem cell research and none of them mentioned it.
